Random Category Images on the Homepage

Is it possible to give each category and/or sub category on the hompage a random image from that category?

There's a mod for doing this in the category_bit.html that changes the category page. But can it be done for the hompage as well?

I'm not quet sure what is your question...the "mod" that changes category_bit.html would affect home page as well.

Ah ha... I see the problem.

I only have images in the sub-categories - not categories. How can I get random images next to the sub-cats on the homepage?
