Fatal Error!! HELP
« on: August 14, 2007, 02:11:15 AM »
Bulk uploads and creating files and thumbnails were going great for the first few 1000's then I started getting this message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3072 bytes)

4images creates the images database and images just file but not the thumbnails now. The basic system is setup with the latest 4images. Its using gd ( ok the system says I'm using GD Billiothek to create thumbnails.} that how the system set itself up.  Where does this "allowed memory size come from? I know where the 3072 bytes came from. I ran dianogistics on my server Mysqldatabase and it seems fine. Ohh and in view mode I can see and download the full size image just fine.
Thank you for your time

8 steps need when ask question -

- PHP version (ACP - > phpinfo())
- mySQL version (ACP - > phpinfo())
- 4images version
- Post screenshot / URL
- Post code in BB Code (no need full file for code) or post attach file
- It doesn't work. What is say - what is do for no work
- Install MOD ? If so - please say (troubleshooting)

@thunderstrike,

increasing the server's PHP memory_limit can only be done by an Server root (Administrator).
most of the people are on shared servers. they can not do that.

what can they do?
asking their HOST to do that (if they want)

@josey,
ask your host.
cheers
Nicky

I finally figured that out after messing with my SQL admin panel. I am waiting for them to respond. Thank you for all the help.

I FIXED IT!

ALL by myself. No FAQ suff. No forum searches. Just day and night trying to figure it out. "It has NOTHING to do with PHP Memory. I don't know why but some where between my computer and configuration in 4images just a few of a 1000 jpg's get contaminated and screw up 4image. Find those images, delete them or work around them and everything is fine. I Think someone at 4images should look into the possibility that it is truncicating the files.

I hope this helps others and saves them the hours I spent on this one problem. Maybe the know it all that think the FAQ is so hot should put it in there!

Thank all those that were nice and really tried to help and ignore those that think they are gods or some such thing.

They are being mean by sending all those none sense notes. I spent hours searching this site but if the right word isn't used the answer is useless! It would have saved space and a lot of time for every one by just not answering if they don't know instead of cryptic BS. I didn't mean to hurt feelings. But the forum is getting so big its getting harder to find answers to simple problems.  I love 4image free or not.

Again thank all those that honestly tried to help
