Hey there,

Im wondering if someone can help me with this.

I currently have a very large image gallery, a lot of the images have names which are long, too long.  When they show up under the thumbnails anywhere, even on random image for eg, as the names are so long, it pushes the template out of line, very streched :/.

Anyone know of a why, to when the image name is too long, for eg, over 12 char's to limit at this value?

Hey there,

I want to change the defult order of things, becasue some of my catagories have many images, my new images get put at the back, or page 19 or something, I would prefer if these new image would be places on the first page

I did some searching of the forum and found a mod by v@no, http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=3842.0 which looks great, cheers man .   I checked your site and saw by defult, the newest images are first, this is want I want, don't need the users to be able to change them, but thats a nice extra...would this mod be the best option?

Also one other thing, the catagory ordering, likewise, the new catagories are put at the end, I would prefer if these were at the start, I found a post by v@no saying no date info is stored so "sorting" this is not possiable......I know I can change the order manualy.........BUT im wondering, if something could be changed in some code when im making a new catagory to make it at the start, rather than the end?

Hey there, I know this mod has already been made, but im wondering if after 3 years it could be improved .

Current Mod

If the user does not have access rights it makes a pop up msg window saying that.  BUT when the mouse is over the thumbnail, the icon remains the same.  Is there anyway to improve this mod, so that it displays the hand icon so that users know they can click on this.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / 32767 Max Image Hits?

I have noticed something strange in my 4images admin section, the stats are strange.

I have: Top 5 categories by hits (Total: 1072056)  and top 5 images by hits of "(Total: 1372893)".

But under the first section, Top 5 categories section...the 5 catagories all list the same value of 32767.....why is this? some strange database error, or have I reached the maximum value?

note: im using 4images 1.7

Hi there, some of my members seem always as the same thing, "why is the download button disabled?"

I was wondering if this is a way to re-write the download button for guests, rather than just disabling it and changing the image to greyed out.

Rather than that could we make a litle msg box come up saying.  "To download these images you must firstly register".   I don't think this should be too hard, just I have no idea how to go about it.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / What To Do? Safe Mode

Hi there, I recently moved host.

On my old host I used to run 4images and I love it, I had it set up with NetPBM to make the thumbs and it worked great.

My new host has GD installed but only the old 1, 1.6? so I can't run it in the high quality mode by changing the value in constants.php.

Here, http://www.aliciakeysfan.com/phpinfo.php shows that my host is currently running in safe mode , I beleive this is the reason NetPBM is not working.

I have emailed my host, but from looking at this forum it seems that most hosts simply say no and do no chnage this mode.

So any1 got any smart ideas?, maybe try and get my host to upgrade their gd to v2?
