Title: RSS READER INSIDE 4images

OK, I think perhaps the old topic request I started was confusing to those who dont know rss...

I would like to have a rss tag

like <rss here> that would place rss news inside 4images category template pages. And it would get the news automatically from other websites cahing it in the 4images database to prevent it from having to contact other sites durring each page refresh.

rproctor made a great mod which did this using magpie

I hope you guys understand what I mean. Or please tell me how to get into googles cache..

it is extremely difficult to accessed any of googles cache within china. the normal proxy servece I use can not get to this.

... it is a very interesting request ...
... and you dont have any code from proctors mod any where saved ...

Yeah it really kills me that I didnt save it... I saved my media directory and reinstalled all of 4images afternot being able to work on my site for a year. I waws goint to re-create all the templates in a different style and took it forgranted all the work I put into it over the years. That was the most important mod of my site I think and I totally forgot about the forum being hacked.. :(

It was such a cool mod I had news related to each category on each category page... and it was so simple with that mod.. ccategory 27 would have its own news headlines..

The only thing I have remaining is the tables in the 4images database. I can tell you what they are called if that would help..

can you guys search the cache at google for magpie? It would suck to have to rewrite the entire mod from scratch when the old one works so well...

I have tried different proxies, but in China it seems they have a special hatred against google cache.. I cant get to it at all.
