What exactly does Lightbox do? Where's the config?

Aside from grouping selected images into a "Lightbox", does Lightbox actually do anything? It doesn't affect the display of images so I think I must be missing something.

I've used Lightbox (jquery, lightbox) on another site and it can be configured to display the images in a gallery in various ways. Yet I see nowhere in the admin area to configure Lightbox and/or change the image display using it. Is there someplace else I have to go to configure Lightbox image display?

Using ver 1.7.11.

Hi,

Lightbox is only a storage box.

Logged in users can not be there to deposit several of photos, more.

Thanks. Is there any way to add jQuery and Lightbox javascript to get it to display gallery images? Maybe a custom template?
