nznevin if you do all the steps correctly u should be getting it working fine...
I guess u have made a mistake in step 3

This Mod looks great. Can it be used to open the original file "size" and not be restricted to the "wallpaper" sizings? Forgive me if I'm missing the point.

you mean, on the details page, when clicking the image (resized image) ? if yes: ofcourse 

check a demo here www.hotdt.com to see what this mod can achieve… (ps, a little modification: http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=10720.msg61386#msg61386 is needed to get exactly this result as on the site.)

Recently I have having this problem with double thumbnails, 

First I add the images (uploading in bulk by FTP to relative directory), then I use file check plug in to see everything is ok,
it shows "error" that some images does not have thumbnail,
Now if I make it from auto-thumbnail, it becomes double copy.. And If I delete them (the double thumnail) then the enlarged version is also deleted and it’s a mess….

another member with similar problem, but there its was not solved!

any way to solve this, meaning only to remove the double image thumbnail from database only? without removing its enlarged version

I have a few questions:
This only groups subcategories or categories with similar starting alphabets, but does not order it by alphabetic order?

How do we reduce the distance between the blocks?

hmmm I had thought of this, but I would like to do this only if no other alternative is available.... let me try to explain a bit more detailed, I am sure its an easy MOD,

Let us suppose the following are the categories, and on setting (3 columns in ACP) it would look like this: (after aplying the above mods)

Atomic Kitten        Ateshia            Ashanti
Anastacia              Alizee               Aishwarya
Aaliyah                  Amy Acker        Amber Easton
Buffy                     Billie                  Beyonce
Briana Banks         Blu Cantrell         Bai Ling

now imagine, if there were 200 names, it would look like a big block, and would not be comfortable for a visitor...

I would like to make it look like: (note the gap separating it out into alphabetic blocks.... would also be lovely if we can apply alternative text color like for e.g., row1 and row2)

4images is the best, and the best can still get better!

Working on a categorized site full of images, I have noticed that sometimes its really difficult to organize it, suppose if u have 30 categories its really difficult for a visitor to go thorough all of them if they are not organized and ordered…

say for e.g. by alphabetic order,
now we can do it manualy, if we add 31st category, the trouble is that we have to organize it to order one by one, moving it one by one up or down…. it a troublesome job….

MOD request:
arrange categories in alphabetic order and make it separate like in blocks (see picture)

IMO these are not in used anymore...atleast they dont "impact" on the search engines...

Yes you are correct, people has been long abusing all these tags, but still top search engines like go***e uses it to show in search results... if not available then it selects its own variant of site description... and trust me.... they are sometimes soooo funny.... like in the description, the first line maybe full of text like:  light box, new images.... or from breadcrumbs etc.... kind of not very relevant

maybe keywords meta tags are more ignored, but I guess description meta tags are still used widely.

I have been using this mod to make dynamic meta description tags and meta keywords tags… I am very happy with the results  in all pages other than homepage…. 

<meta name="description" content="some blabla, {cat_name} bla bla. Download {cat_name} bla bla, …….., free {cat_name} for download……..">
<meta name="keywords" content="{image_name},{cat_name},free ……..{cat_name} …… {cat_name} ……..">

in homepage the category name and image name becomes same as the new image cat and image name… how do I mage the homepage tags static and others dynamic…. is there any check or conditional tags we can apply to check if its home.html or other templates….

how can I make it all http://www.site.com 

Now some maybe wondering why the h*** I need it?? 
I noticed that Google pagerank is different for both these types in most of the sites… don’t know why this happens…
