How to get output like  /data/media/1/file_name/ with a new tag like {media_src2}

$media_src2 = str_replace(".zip", "/", $media_src);

Is there a way to mark a image being related to another image(s) while adding to database? So that they are permanently linked?

I found a MOD that searches for similar images based on keywords, not the type i am looking for.

I have been having issues with multiple open sessions from same IP, some times hundreds. I do not understand why a user from one IP needs so many open sessions. Could this be due to any bugs in the MODs applied?
The website does not receive much traffic.

Is the a way to limit the number of open sessions from one IP at a time... say only 10 secession from any one IP at any given time? If an 11th session is opened, then automatically close the first open secession?

The below given log is taken from the admin panel, you can see multiple open session to index.php (homepage) from same ip over and over.... it does not make sense why this is happening:

On a website that receives very little visitors, logging into the admin panel, In the visitors list i noticed hundreds of index.php by same ip address. This caused the mySQL server to crash and the host started complaining to fix this problem. When i checked the ip address, it belong to a search engine bot.

After a little search on this forum, i came to the conclusion that its an open db connection that was not closed and resulted in too many open mySQL connections. What could be the reason of this?

Anyway i tried a crude fix.... in the home.html template, i included
$site_db->close();

and after few minutes removed it..... this somehow seemed to fix all the problem.... all the extra index.php went away and the mysql server came back to normal.

Can any one please explain why there are multiple index.php listing from the same ip and why this causes the mysql server to become unavailable or slow and why the above code seems to fix it  :roll:

Edit: Is there a way to limit the number of parallel connections from same ip, will this solve this issue?

Edit2: If i set "mysql.allow_persistent" to "off" will it solve this problem? Will it have any negative effect on the script?

I would like to share a very sad news with the forum members:

My website

www.hotdt.com has been hijacked and duplicated by someone! All my hard work is gone in one blow to someone who does not deserve it!!![/b]

Some one registered a new domain name

www.hotdt.net (I regret not securing this domain name before hand) and got unauthorized access to my yahoo mail and hosting account!!!! And has duplicated my work!!!!

He has also changed all login information and has totally locked me out!

The reason this happened is because the site was started on my hosting account… but after 6 months due to the traffic demand and disk space, I shifted it to my friends account and we together support the site by adding wallpapers… he adds the cars wallpapers and I got the lovely job to add the celebrity wallpapers!!!

He is on vacation now (one week now) and out of contact… in the meantime one of his friends has hijacked our site by collecting the login info from my partners computer.

I am trying to contact him but with little luck….

yea u read it correct ;) imagine a visitor is visiting your site and seeing this message “ <site name> will be updated with fresh images in 15 minutes…” and this happens every 15 minutes throughout the day!!!!  :D

The home page of each site is the most important area and imagine being able to keep it updated with fresh images at even intervals.. Wow that will look like a pro site!!!

Imagine u want to add 120 pics today.. If the script could automatically add 5 pics every 60 minutes… then in one day u will be able add all the images at even interval…

also to keep the visitor impressed.. a message like “the site will be updated in XX minutes…"

Anyone can throw some light on this idea… :wink:

I was looking to find a way to implement the “Subcategories in Control Panel categories overview can be expanded/collapsed” function in the category and detailed image pages,

this could be a very good addition to improve user experience since 4images do not have a good navigation flow.. and some newbie on internet will find it very confusing.. cause the usual rule of left side main menu is not present….

Is it possible to make a dedicated category page?

extract all category names and sub category names into a list and link it using the appropriate category or subcategory name to the search form using the category or sub-cat names as keywords,

like for example sub category: "ford" in main category "cars"

http://site.com/search.php?search_keywords=ford&search_terms=all

And make a rewrite to display url
http://site.com/cars/ford/ford_page1.html (with paging, if more pages, like page1, page2, page3....)

Edit: maybe by suing V@no’s sitemap mod to extract all cat and sub-cat names and modifying it to link to search form instead ;)
