4images not working under PHP Version 5.2

My webhoster was updating on PHP Version 5.2. My original installed 4images version is 1.7.1 with a lot of fixes and MODs.

My configuration on the server host is:
PHP4 Extension settings: php4 php3 php
PHP5 Extensions settings: phtml php5 php4 php3
so in my php info it shows php version 4.4.4 and my site is working good
without .htaccess file and MOD Search engine friendly URLs.

The problem is. When i put the php Tag to the PHP5 Extensions it shows in php info Php Version 5.2
and then i can only see a blank page without nothing in the browser.
Also if i try to use a .htaccess file for the MOD Search engine friendly URLs with Php Version 4.4.4 i can also see a blank page.

  Before the hoster updated everything has been working great also with .htaccess and MOD SEF URLs !

Does anybody know where is the problem and how to solve that :
Is it possible to run Version 1.7.1 under PHP Version 5.2 :
Could i use a .htaccess file for the MOD SEF URLs under PHP Version 4.4.4 and/or under Version 5.2 :

Ist für die "Search-Engine-Friendly-URLs" auch mod_rewrite auf dem Server installiert?

Nein, leider immer noch nicht!

Erhalte bislang auch keinen Support hierfür.
Nein, den MOD SEFUrls habe ich wieder deinstalieren müssen, da er komischerweise nicht mehr funktioniert.
Vor dem Serverupdate des Hosters lief alles perfekt inkl. MOD.
Bin gerade dabei mir eine Testumgebung mit XAMPP zu bauen.

Ah ja, Xampp ist eine feine Lösung, habe damit gute Erfahrung machen können!
