Fragen zum generellen Verständnis:

1. Der Mod schreibt Watermarks für jedes hoch geladene Image, nicht aber in bereits am Server befindliche bzw. nur wenn das eingestellt wird, korrekt? Mir geht's darum, daß ich die bestehenden in der Gallery nicht markieren will, alle zukünftigen dann aber schon.

2. Das Watermark wird Bestandteil des Bildes, sowohl in Thumbnail als auch wenn jemand das Bild runterlädt, korrekt?
Hier geht's mir darum, wie ich in Zukunft dann meine Bilder organisieren muß, z.B. am PC die Originale, in der Gallery die mit Watermark, passiert mal was mit der Gallery, kann ich die Originale wieder hochladen und im Batch neu watermarken lassen. Jedenfalls hab ich das so verstanden.

3. Ist beim Aktivieren der Bilder ein selektives Watermarken möglich?
Ich lade Bilder fast nur per FTP hoch, entweder direkt in die Categories oder eine gesammelte und verteile von dort aus auf die Categories. Beim Aktivieren werden die Bilder aber dann natürlich wie Kraut und Rüben angezeigt, was bisher aber egal war.
Da ich nicht immer alle hochgeladenen Bilder watermarken will, wäre es gut, beim Aktivieren oder spätestens via edit-image dann einstellen zu können, wo ein Watermark gesetzt werden soll. Geht das?

I have a question about uploading/adding htm(l) files. I have set the allowed file type (txt, htm, html), I have the templates, I can upload via FTP and activate it - no problem.
Today I have got a single htm file and wanted to add it quickly via the cpanel, so I went to add images, selected the htm file and category, entered the data etc. and clicked "add" - but then I got the error message that it can't add htm to the db.

Error uploading image file: xxxxx.htm
xxxx.htm: Invalid file type (htm, text/html)

No database entry!

Since this only happens when using the cpanel I'd like to ask how i can fix it. I can still upload using FTP so it is not a big problem but I wonder why the cpanel does not accept htm from direct upload.

Version is 1.7.2

On my site I use this MOD.
And this mod automaticaly copy original file to /big/ folder if the image is being resized (/big/ folder also automaticaly created if its not exist).
Just need use in Step 1. this code:

What mod would "this MOD" be? The link goes to the mod index page (MOD releases and support).
I have tried to read my way through the thread (auto-image resize on upload). I feel dizzy.
First, the mod seems not to be what Spotter asked and I'd like to get too but on page 3 there are some posts about that it could do all this with (as I understand it) another MOD (but which?) but maybe only on a windows server (or not?).

I also came upon a thread (Show original image in new window)
where it says on top

This MOD will let in detail page by clicking on the image, open new fullscreen window with bigger size image (new window will be closed by clicking on mouse buttons).

sounds this is what I am looking for but then

NOTE:
1. This MOD doesnt resize or do anything with images, and u'll need upload "big/original" images manualy.

Hello, confusion. Does it mean you have to upload a resized and the original file? Which mod to use now?
Have the changes and fixes mentioned in the following pages of the mod's thread be inlcuded in the original mod/instructions?

Mußte meine Gallery mal wieder neu aufsetzen, läuft jetzt in vs. 1.7.3 (4 hat einfach nicht geklappt).
Ich habe einige media files (wmv, flv etc.), upload, add to database etc. ist kein Problem.
Ein User kann sie aber nur downloaden indem er sie entweder zur lightbox hinzufügt oder via rightclick.
Was muß im html File stehen, damit ein Klick aufs media-icon den Download startet? Ich will kein embedded Abspielen, die User sollen es nur downloaden.
Downloaden kann bei mir jeder, lightbox ist an registered user gekoppelt. Vs. wie gesagt 1.7.3, Template Chique_black.

Can't find it on the download page anymore, my ISP only has 1.7.2 in Fantastico.
Any directions to where I can download it?

thanks for the link but what should I do with it? The link goes to a thread where the change(s) is(are) listed - what does that mean to me? I don't do templates. Should I change this part now back to the previous version?

2. captcha
Ok, for all who have similar problems and no idea about captcha (as I had):

etc.

Ok, so I added this to config.php, set to 0. Since I have no idea whether or not it's necessary I aadded it to config.new.php too.
Result: zero, nada, null, none.
I still can't log out.

So, please - what the heck is wrong with my gallery? Or the new version? Or with me that I don't get it? *desparate*

There is no error message, as described in post one - I simply can't log out. Don't know whether I would be able to log in, at the moment I can't log out, that's it.
I can also not say what registered users or guests would see after the upgrade, because I am always seeing the page as admin.

If I simply rename the default template folder to mytemplate what good would that be? The template would be the default template then and not mytemplate.
I have also tried to change the standard template in the settings to default (this folder contains the 1.7.4 files) but logging out isn't possible either so I don't see why the renaming template stuff should work.

I agree with that the problem doesn't seem to be the template but some php stuff/bug in 1.7.4

I am sorry but what do you mean with update the template?
I have uploaded the files in templates/default dir but not the template dir I am using (chicque_black).
Wouldn't make sense to put that into the chicque_black dir would it?

The site that had the template (chicque black by Nova) is hacked too.
Is that some organised attack or what?

I upgraded to 1.7.4, then a user told me he can't log in and to see what's wrong I wanted to log-out. Well, I can't.
Neither on the index page nor in the cpanel.
Is this a version bug or can/shall I do something?

Also, I upgraded after my site obviously was hacked (browser hijack when going to the gallery from the cpanel on or calling up the index.php page - since it was only with this gallery and only that sites and neither ad-aware nor spybot nor mcafee could find anything I assumed it was the server/gallery that got hacked. The upgrade fixed that except when you just call the galelry directory itself (not index.php).
Can someone suggest what to check to fix that too?

Ah .. nein.

In meiner Gallery wär's nett, wenn sich unter der 1stLevel Subcategory (z.B. Actors) die nachfolgenden einfach nebeneinander gelistet werden (wie Chicie_Black ursprünglich vorisieht).
Erst wenn man dann auf 2ndLevel Subcategory (z.B. Alyssa Milano) geht, sollten die darunter enthaltenen Kategorien untereinander gelistet werden.

*Actors
Alyssa Milano  Julian Mcmahon ..

aber
* Alyssa Milano
2006
2005
2004

Weiß nicht, ob ich das verständlich beschrieben habe, ich denke, das wird sich ohnehin nur sehr kompliziert machen lassen ..
Im Grunde geht es um das Problem, wie man viele Kategorien möglichst übersichtlich präsentieren kann.
