Installation, Update & Configuration / 4images & Synology NAS
« on: January 08, 2020, 01:56:14 AM »
I already posted over in the Error forum but there doesn't seem to be much input.

I'm having trouble migrating my 4images gallery over to a Synology NAS system.  I've successfully migrated two different WordPress sites over but cannot figure out how to get the 4images gallery over.  I've tried, unsuccessfully, to do a new install as well - check out my error message thread here: https://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=33076.0

I'm getting:

An unexpected error occured. Please try again later.
Could not connect to the database server (localhost, gallery).

I've confirmed my database information is correct.  I'm using PHP 7.0 and Apache 2.2

Based on this thread: https://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=24690.0, I've updated the correct folders to 777 and 666

Is there a known compatibility issue with Synology?

I'm sure it's something simple that I am missing.  It seems odd that I can't install a fresh copy either.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Long-time user of 4Images.  Recently I set up my own local NAS and have successfully migrated over two of my WordPress sites, however, I am struggling to migrate over my 4Images site.  While trying to troubleshoot the migration, I also tried to install a fresh copy of of 4Images, also to no avail.  I'm obviously missing something.  This is the error I'm getting on the new install.  The install.php comes up, I fill in the information and I get this (password protected of course):

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function safe_htmlspecialchars() in /volume1/web/4images/includes/db_mysqli.php:38 Stack trace: #0 /volume1/web/4images/install.php(234): Db->__construct('localhost', '4images', '***********', '4images') #1 {main} thrown in /volume1/web/4images/includes/db_mysqli.php on line 38

I updated the db_mysql.php as directed on page one of this thread.  When clicking on the on the red error message, the reason I get is:

"Could not connect to the database server (localhost, xxxxxx_imga1)."

What are my next steps?

Installation, Update & Configuration / Image Links Missing
« on: April 09, 2010, 05:21:38 PM »
I just did the 1.7.7 upgrade and all seems to have gone well, however, the links below the image on the details page no longer show (thumbnail link, forum link, website link, etc).  Are these the "admin_links"?  And if so, how do I get them to show again?

I've tried all of the available templates with no success.

Rembrandt,

awesome, thank you.  my searches found nothing because I wasn't searching in German

I don't know German, so I will try my best to decode what you have done on your website.  I do not code, but I can copy/paste  :D

thanks!

I've searched and searched on this site, but have not been able to find a way to temporarily hide all of the image information/comments section on the details page.  I want all of that information to remain on the page and be accessible to all users, but I would like to provide a "minimize/maximize" button so that the information appears and disappears when a button is pressed while on the details page.  Does this make sense?

The goal is to clean up the aesthetics of the "details" page; there is a lot of information many viewers don't care to see.

If this has been done, please point me in the correct direction.  thanks.
