Error uploading image file

everytime I try to upload a custom image file I get the following error

Error uploading image file:

I can upload via control panel using URL but thats all.

I set all the options so on but it still dont upload what else do I need to do?

just to let you know i FIXED the error was my php setting sorry to bug u

Would it be possible to know which PHP setting exacly ? It would help other users when facing a similar problem. ;)
