go from old 2003-GAllery to new one - possible ?

I have installed the gallery on my webserver nearly 10 years ago...  2002 or 2003
it says Version 1.7

so: no iam changing server - maybe new PHP-version on it, and so on...

is it possible to export the images from my old Gallery and import them in my then new gallery ?
(automatically)

or do i have to add all pictures single by single manually ?

Why not just upgrade your old gallery by copying all files from new version over the old files?
