Discussion & Troubleshooting / Cache problem after server change
« on: March 14, 2011, 02:43:59 PM »
Hello,

I recently moved to another server and now when I make a change on the site like uploading a pic I can't see it until I clear the cache manually from the admin panel. It wasn't like this before and all files database etc are moved intact so what may be causing this? something about php settings perhaps?

I'll appreciate any help

Hello,

I don't know if this is the correct section but today I noticed on the "new pics" there were some pics uploaded that reads "Hacked by ..." they were hacked.png hacked_2.png etc in the tmp_media folder. In the description section it wrote "warning" I also noticed some new comments that were insterted with HTML link codes where they read "Hacked by xxxx" and last members table look like this.

I don't see anything wrong with the gallery I just deleted them all. Is this something I should be worried about? Anyone seen sth like this before?

Please advice
My website site is this btw

Edit: And I just noticed I can register with unwanted characters like those above < > " etc, I found a topic this was fixed for 1.7.2 but current versions accept these characters, even official 4images demo you can register a username like <a href=http://www.google.com>google</a> shouldn't this be fixed also?

It works ok, I also noticed that only changing this part

Quote
$tempuser = preg_replace("/[.*]/i","",strtolower( $fbme['first_name'].$fbme['last_name'] ));

also works, the system fetches the information and displays correctly if you have the webpage charset in utf8. My charset is not utf8 (it's iso-8859-9) so it displays corruptly(like this ŞıkıdımÇıkık) but this is a different problem for me I guess it'd take too much effort to change that so I'll use it the old way, or do you have any idea how to fetch the info in a different encoding than utf8?

And thank you very much for your answers, I really appreciate.

I have already done it when I set it up  :? I can set up a username with non-english characters through system's registration feature but this happens when the username is fetched from facebook.  :?

Thanks for the response.

I noticed this mod is problematic with non-english characters like ŠČ,ş,ö etc, it is a problem, it doesn't fetch those characters. It is a problem especially if the person's name starts with a such character. Any idea how to fix this?

Is it possible to use the user's facebook display pic as his avatar with his comments?
That'd be cool.

And thank you very much for the mod, it is brilliant.

I've got a problem that this mod doesn't show the thumbnails if the page is reached through search page, as in www.site.com/img123.search.htm
It works OK when browsed normally; as in www.site.com/img123.htm

Any ideas?

But I can upload with IE without problems. When I try with FF or Chrome then it gives out this error.

Still happens mate. Somehow works with IE though, but not with other browsers.

I have the same problem

filename.flv: Invalid file type (flv, )

it does not show any mime type after the comma so I can not fix it.

EDIT: Just realized it works fine with IE but does not with FF or Chrome, weird.

It can come handy as captcha is good only to prevent automated spam. This becomes a problem for large sites that receive dozens of comments every day :)

Does anyone know how to activate admin approval before comments are published, or is it possible at all?

Mods & Plugins (Requests & Discussions) / Category Dropdown Form
« on: July 26, 2009, 01:05:08 PM »
Hello,

I have a 4images website with hundreds of categories. When I was trying to optimize the page for better speed, I noticed that category drop down menu really is a giant problem. I removed it and the page was 23k lighter, which is huge. And I doubt anyone uses that since it is so full of categories(100's) it'd be impossible to really navigate in it. And the same problem is in the category pages too since theres a dropdown in every categoey page. So overall, this is a serious matter with regards to website speed and the user experience.

So here's the thing. I want to keep it but it must only show "main categories", which I have around 40. In such case, the form would be only a few kb's and relatively navigateable for the user.

I'm guessing this shouldn't be too hard to implement. Any thoughts?
Couldn't find anything like this in the forum.

Thanks in advance.
