netpbm/thumbs not working

Hi,

I just installed the 4images and netpbm on a Windows XP Pro localhost.

I placed netpbm in C:\apps\netpbm. I set the Windows path variable to include the above folder.

I checked the auto thumbs in the 4images control panel and I set the path to the above folder.

Yet, I can not generate thumbs. When I run AutoThumbnailer I get a blank window.

In fact, no matter what path I put in the control panel for netpbm, I get the same blank window. I also tried the pbm-gallery. Same problem.

I checked this entire board for an answer or hint on how to fix this and did not find anything.

Does anybody have a working 4images + netpbm setup on Windows XP?

Anybody has any idea what is wrong here and how to make this work?

first, u missed few iportant info about your server configuration:
PHP version and what kind of web server application do u use, such as Apache, IIS or anything else.

but anyway, try this fix:

even though this is for ImageMagick, u still can try adopt it for NetPBM

Thanks for the hint; I am running Apache 1.3.27 and PHP 4.3.

I installed ImageMagick and I tried the fix, it got me a bit further.
The fix ddid not make any differnece for netpbm, same blank screen.

Now I can see the Auto-Thumbnailer form and also the Auto-Image-Resizer form but when I run them I get these error messages:

- error creating thumbnail,

and

- error converting image file

I'll keep trying with ImageMagic, it seems to be a better supported package (it now has an installer).

I got it working. The problem was that the path must include convert as well, not just the ImageMagick folder (this was not obvious).
