Make a new template for .wmv files in your template folder:

1. Go to templates/<your_template>/media
2. Make a file called wmv.html and copy this into it:

Quote
<object id="MediaPlayer1"
classid="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6"
codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=6,0,02,902"
standby="Loading Microsoft&reg; Windows&reg; Media Player components..."
type="application/x-oleobject" height="375" width="500">
<param name="animationatStart" value="true">
<param name="transparentatStart" value="true">
<param name="autoStart" value="true">
<param name="showControls" value="true">
<param name="Volume" value="3">
<param name="BufferingTime" value="8000">
<param name="AllowChangeDisplaySize" value="true">
<param name="ControlType" value="1">
<param name="EnableContextMenu" value="true">
<param name="stretchToFit" value="true">
<param name="uiMode" value="full">
<embed type="application/x-mplayer2" pluginspage=" http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer/" src="{media_src}" name="MediaPlayer1" autostart="false" height="375" width="500">
</object>

3. Save it.

Then go to adminCP -> Settings and in "Upload image settings" (or somthing like this, i have polish version...) there will be somthing like "Accepted extensions" - put wmv at the end :) Don't forget the > , <

greets

You sure something in your IE settings stopping this?
Usually IE allows everything while other browsers stop it.

Just an idea, hope it helps

Ok, well its got me why it is not working  :?

However when trying to see it I did get a notice of a scripting error on the page, but I was unable to get where or what the error is.
Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Maybe a conflict somewhere? Your guess is as good as mine.

I was able to view a little of the error but not much before the window closed.
It said:

Line: 231
Character: 1
Error: Object Expected
Code: 0
URL: http://www.mehsus.com/img1226.htm

Sorry I couldn't get anymore info.

I personally dont think so if you copied the code exactly as shown and does work in FF.
But try rebuilding wmv.html and see if that helps, don't think it will but it dont hurt to try it to eliminate that part.

Just so you know IE and FF interperet scripts a little different then each other. So it could easily be a conflict in IE. I just don't know what it causing the conflict.

Did you look into that script error to see if that is causing a conflict somehow?

Right now I am guessing that is the problem until someone else that has added this has the same problem.
