thumbnail problem
« on: April 07, 2007, 07:57:59 PM »
Hi everyone:

I have 4images installed and working, with one issue.  When you login and go to where the images are, the thumbnail has an eye on it for each image.  Now, if you click the eye, you see the actual image.

How do I fix that?  Or do I need to upload thumbnails for each image?

Thanks!

Hello.

I have the same problem. I have installed 4images, changed to YES in Create Auto thumbnail... but nothing helps :( (GD lib)
When I upload a file... an eye appears.

I know there is ImageMagick on server (6.3.0) [ from phpinfo() -->  version    ImageMagick 6.3.0 10/23/06 Q16 http://www.imagemagick.org] - but I don't know how to check path !!!!

I also know there is GD:
Quote
GD Support    enabled
GD Version    bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
GIF Read Support    enabled
GIF Create Support    enabled
JPG Support    enabled
PNG Support    enabled
WBMP Support    enabled
XBM Support    enabled

What should I change to have auto resizing working properly?
[4images version downloaded today from website]

Is this, because your uploaded file is NOT jpg, gif or png?

Hello;
your files have .JPG extension, and not .jpg. Extensions seem to be case sensitive in the script. But... you cannot create a file called JPG.html in your_template/media folder, as your computer does not make difference between JPG and jpg..
It works here:
but not here: http://hydrus.et.put.poznan.pl/~zueps/sp2006/photos/original/IMG_3058.JPG (I did not make a direct link tho this big image to help lowband members).

I also noticed that the only thumbnail working was from an image hosted in your site: http://ieee.put.poznan.pl/4images/ the url to the image: http://ieee.put.poznan.pl/4images/data/media/2/poznan_map.jpg
The non-working thumbnails lead to original images hosted at http://hydrus.et.put.poznan.pl/~zueps/sp2006/photos/original/.

But I really think that your problem is caused by files' extensions. I use to use a software like Lupa's Rename before uploading any picture taken from a Digital Camera. I can then change the name of the files in a folder, and their extensions.

Don't know how it could help, but hope you will success. Maybe another member knows a workaround to skip this problem. Ask kurtw, maybe he knows.

Hi,
and thanks manurom...

Info: The other user had problems to download images from 4images over the download button.
With .jpg the problem was solved.
BUT: He had generated thumbnails without a problem from images with .JPG
Also on my server i have no problems with .JPG
Test one image with .jpg and we see  :wink:
