PDF Problem
« on: March 29, 2005, 09:19:28 PM »
Hi guys,

Fehlermeldung:

"There was an error opening this document. The file does not exist."

Hi,

Hier wäre die Galerie:
http://www.g-weiser.com/gallery/categories.php?cat_id=41

-----
temporary open PDF files via <download>Button doesn´t work with Internetexplorer, but it works with Netscape.
For support requests please don´t forget link to your Gallery/to phpinfo.php
Code: [Select]
<?
phpinfo()
?>
safe_mode must turned OFF
Please check Error Messages

Hallo zusammen

Frank

Hallo an alle PDF-File Interessierten,

Ja ...  :wink: ... dann  /templates/<dein_template>/media/pdf.html wie folgt ändern:

Code: [Select]
<!-- Template für pdf-Dateien -->
<table cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="802">
<tr><td class="bordercolor">
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%">
<tr><td><iframe src={media_src} width="800" height="800" frameborder="0" scrolling="1" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" type="pdf"></iframe>
</td></tr></table>
</td></tr></table>
<br>

Doesn't matter FF or IE, the browser must be properly configured ;)

@haider512:
You cannot ensure that every visitor will be able view pdf, let alone view it in the browser...
All you can do is add a note/tutorial on how to view pdf files (and if you respect your visitors, don't even mention Adobe PDF Reader (whis), there are plenty of non-bloatware free alternatives)
Your first three "must do" before you ask a question:
Please do not PM me asking for help unless you've been specifically asked to do so. Such PMs will be deleted without answer. (forum rule #6)

Many THanks for reply..

@mawenzi
Actually i want online reader for user..and most users i have seen use FF or chrome here..??
only some users use IE ??

@ V@no

yes im just trying to give my site a professional look.. as it is educational site..so thought keeping readers online for ppt and pdf will b good..

like http://www.docstoc.com/

also found some scripts online ...but not sure how to use them..

http://www.ajaxdocumentviewer.com/
http://www.vuzit.com
http://viewer.zoho.com/home.do

also they are expensive. so not affordable..also not like what i want..

hmmm..so isnt it possible to get the reader for pdf/ppt online..

i mean when user click it (thumbnail.) and in details.php instead of image the document(pdf/ppt) should b viewable..and also when clicked download button, it should download.

???

oh thats why it was not showing me the pdf..
i dont have acrobat installed..
i am using foxit reader.. its nice too. and very light weight.

but i want to make it possible that user view it online..even he/she even dont have acrobat reader etc..

cuz not everyone keeps acrobat reader..and when that someone clicks it and it shows white space instead of any picture or icon..
dont look good.?
