Hi guys,
Also, ich weiß nicht, ob euch der Fehler bekannt ist oder nicht, doch ich hoffe ihr findet eine Lösung:
Wenn man PDF Dokumente hochläd, scheint es Probleme zu geben es temporär zu öffnen (ohne den Download zu speichern). Fehlermeldung:
"There was an error opening this document. The file does not exist."
Solltet ihr euch ein Beispiel anschauen wollen, kontaktiert mich und ich sende euch URL und Zugangsdaten.

Also ich z.B. habe kein Problem mit .pdf Dateien :|
URL und Zugangsdaten wären schon mal ein Schritt näher um zu verstehen, was für ein Problem das ist :wink:

Also ich hab auch keine Probleme mit PDF Datein :) :)

Versucht es bitte mal downzuloaden und andere PDF Dateien raufzuladen - wäre echt eine große Hilfe!
Habt ihr eine Ahnung, ob das vielleicht mit der PDF Version zu tun hat, mit der das Dokument erstellt wurde? Oder sonstige Ideen?

Kann bei pdf auch keine automatischen Thumnails erstellen.
Bei jpg Dateien kann ich durch klicken auf das Thumnail das Bild öffnen, funktioniert bei pdf
nicht. PDF kann ich nur downloaden. Ist das normal?
Bei PDF wird immer dieses Standartbild genommen.
Ich konnte die beiden PDF Dateien öffnen. Auf den <download>Button klicken, dann "öffnen mit Standartanwendung" auswählen. Ging mit Netscape 7.1, mit IE 6 allerdings nicht.

Hallo zusammen
Ich habe dasselbe Problem. 4images verwaltet die PDF einwandfrei, aber sobald ich nach dem Klick auf den Download-Button öffnen anklicke kommt die Meldung, dass das File nicht existiert. Wenn ich das File aber speichere und dann öffne, klappts problemlos. Kann mir jemand helfen? Obengenannte Tipps haben nichts gebracht.

Habe an mehreren Stellen im Forum diese oder ähnliche Fragen gefunden.
Besteht die Möglichkeit die PDF-Datei direkt auf der Website anzeigen zulassen, ohne den Umweg des Downloads bzw. des Anzeigens der PDF-Datei über einen Link im neuen Fenster ?
Ich würde sagen ... Ja ... :wink: ... dann /templates/<dein_template>/media/pdf.html wie folgt ändern:

Das PDF-File Template ist analog dem für HTML-Files aufgebaut und kann natürlich der Größe der Website angepasst werden.

i copied the above code to pdf.html in media folder..
but it is not working..
instead..my idm detects the download..
what to do???

Doesn't matter FF or IE, the browser must be properly configured ;)

You cannot ensure that every visitor will be able view pdf, let alone view it in the browser...
All you can do is add a note/tutorial on how to view pdf files (and if you respect your visitors, don't even mention Adobe PDF Reader (whis), there are plenty of non-bloatware free alternatives)

Actually i want online reader for user..and most users i have seen use FF or chrome here..??
only some users use IE ??

yes im just trying to give my site a professional look.. as it is educational site..so thought keeping readers online for ppt and pdf will b good..

hmmm..so isnt it possible to get the reader for pdf/ppt online..
i mean when user click it (thumbnail.) and in details.php instead of image the document(pdf/ppt) should b viewable..and also when clicked download button, it should download.

oh thats why it was not showing me the pdf..
i dont have acrobat installed..
i am using foxit reader.. its nice too. and very light weight.
but i want to make it possible that user view it online..even he/she even dont have acrobat reader etc..
cuz not everyone keeps acrobat reader..and when that someone clicks it and it shows white space instead of any picture or icon..
dont look good.?
