Mods & Plugins (Releases & Support) / Re: [MOD] User Categories Area
« on: December 07, 2010, 06:11:16 PM »
Hi -

New issue that I wanted to alert you to about your MOD:

the autoresize did not seem to work when I performed a remote image url upload into one of my personal galleries.

Here is the massive image that needs resizing, of course! -

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/59/Pergamonmuseum_-_Antikensammlung_-_Pergamonaltar_13.jpg

The auto resize does work when I upload any manner of large-sized files from my desktop.

Thanks,

Brian

Hi -

Thanks so much for your help. Your suggested fix worked perfectly. I rigged the system with a 27 character image name all connected by letters or underscore, and uploaded. Sure enough, the letters truncated at 20, (my setting), and yet the image name remained intact.

Thanks so much.

I do have the AutoThumbailer v2.3 mod installed, and yes, it does function as designed in the ACP for those remotely uploaded images.  I am aware of the other MOD, remote image thumbnail creation, but held off installing that in April of this year, thinking that the AutoThumnailer MOD superceded it.  I'll give it a try.

[edit]

I installed the MOD Remote Image Thumbnail Creation, http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=6920.0, and tried it using your MultiUpload and it did not work, in creating a remote thumbnail image. I tried it with the default image upload button, and yes, it did work. Thanks for considering adding the member remote upload thumbnail creation feature in your MOD.

Thanks again.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Trouble uploading a remote image via URL
« on: December 04, 2010, 03:00:57 AM »
Hi -

Using v1.7.7
PHP Version 5.2.14
MySql Version 5.1.47

I tried to upload this image using the remote url function and adding her name, Susan Francia, as the image name:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_1Ssoxfl0MvQ/StxFzLrMzeI/AAAAAAAAKQE/hQhbEIVVES8/s1600-h/espn9.jpg

The result is the "eye image" and the image name but when you click on the image name, and go to the details page, all you see is her image name but not the image.

I tried using V@no's multiuload MOD and the regular upload function, as well as Budduke's multiupload function. All three gave a result that only showed the image name but not the image.

Budduke weighed in with his comment after trying as well:

Quote
your second one (issue) did the same thing to me also,
I even tried adding it in the admin panel (outside my mod) and the same thing happened. The link is saved correctly in the database when I looked at it, but you can not download it or thumbnail it.
I  remember something about directories that begin with a underscore like that one has and some problems linking to them but I can not remember much about it.
I do not work with remote stuff so this is new to me. I tried linking a remote image from my own site and it worked...
http://www.budduke.com/gallery/data/media/15/big/ntcosmo01.JPG
but it did NOT create a thumbnail. Even from the admin panel or the normal member upload screen but it did link to it and I can download it.

I was successful in uploading other remote url images from blogs and other locations.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

Thanks,

Brian

Hi -

I'm doing some tweaks on our FAQ's and wondered if there was a way to limit Image Name in character length in the coding?

Otherwise, if someone enters a long field name, it plays havoc with our row display and template and causes the template to bulge outwards.  Depending on how the image name is entered, with or without underscores, 4images does not provide automatic wrapping to conform with the row box dimensions when you click on a given category.

In other words, we have 2 rows of 6 images configured for our templates as a display when you click on a category.  If the image name gets too long, it pushes the row outwards to the side, and therefore pushes the template out as well.

[edit]

Another question/issue:
I tried to upload this image using the remote url function and adding her name, Susan Francia, as the image name:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_1Ssoxfl0MvQ/StxFzLrMzeI/AAAAAAAAKQE/hQhbEIVVES8/s1600-h/espn9.jpg

The result is the "eye image" and the image name but when you click on the image name, and go to the details page, all you see is her image name but not the image. Have I missed something? Not sure why this is not working.

Thanks for considering my requests and questions.

Mods & Plugins (Releases & Support) / Re: [MOD] Multi-Lightboxes v1.03.1
« on: December 03, 2010, 02:26:11 AM »
Hi -

Sorry for the late reply on my promised update of 29 Nov.

V@no's fix seems to have worked. After more than 10 days, the images have stayed in the various lightboxes.

Thank you very much for taking the time to correct this issue.  I really appreciate it.

Hi -

Thanks for the fix V@no. I appreciate your putting in the time to try to solve the problem.

I have logged in as 3 users: 1 @ ACP and 2 @ regular members. I have saved images to several lightboxes and deleted one. Everything seems to be working so far.

As I mentioned in my earlier posts on this page, I am letting the lightboxes "bake" for wont of a better word, to see if the images will remain in their respective lightboxes over a one week period, which for me was the critical time when images from the newer lightboxes began to slip into the older lightboxes.

Thanks again. Will update again on Monday, 29 Nov.

Hi -

Thanks for posting. I had not seen your post. What I experience is identical but I have not deleted any images, either as an admin or as a user.

I am happy to have the MOD author log in to our website and try this out as our test user, who has no admin privileges.  Just log in, create 2, 3, or 4 lightboxes, and save a few images. Then let it sit for 7 days and log back in. You'll see that all the images of the most recently created lightbox have populated all the lightboxes.

Thank you.

Brian

[edit]

attached is my images.php file; it appears to be the default, created for v.1.7.6 - I had not seen this file and it is a big one. In scanning the code, I wonder if some of the presets in the code might be causing this problem. I don't have a 'big' folder root address specified, for one thing

No word from any folks if they have actually tested this MOD after it has been installed and multi-lightboxes have been saved for a week or two.

The bottom line: the installation and initial operation with the MOD in place work fine but I have to now declare this MOD does NOT work with V1.7.7 after a few weeks of installation and the multi-lightboxes that have saved images are older than  7 - 10 days.

Previous posts detail exact problem.

Such a bummer. This appeared to be a great and useful MOD for members.

Hi -

Here is the link to the post I made in topic TUT Tooltip for Thumbnails

http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=22030.msg147139#msg147139

It is hard to describe exactly what went wrong but the best summation might be that the entire screen/display went hugely vertically, meaning one image then a comment then another image.

My goal is to have the same functionality when you mouse over an image in the comment box to preview it that you have when you use the TUT Tooltip for Thumbnails on say the the most recent images uploaded section.  Please PM me or hit me back if you want me to import the post I made in the other section here. Glad to do it.

Thanks,

Brian

I have asked before but hopefully the powers that be won't be mad if I ask again:

anyway to make the Walter Zorn tooltip work with the comments feature so when our members mouseover the image, it provides a pop up like the rest of the 'recent images' function?

Thanks,

Brian

Bug Fixes & Patches / Re: [1.7 - 1.7.8] Security fix for CSRF vulnerability
« on: November 03, 2010, 08:55:25 AM »
This is but then is not off topic.

Error message received: "CSRF check failed"

using v1.7.7, with the CSRF security fix obviously installed, on 30 Oct, after the files were updated ...

Action to cause the error message:

performing multiupload of images using V@no's mutliupload form; max setting for file upload is 18000 kb

so I set the number of images to upload at 7, which all told came to about 13 mb.  hitting upload caused the error.

I eventually determined that I needed to change the max upload setting in my php.ini file setting but ....

the looming question:

will all error messages now read as " CSRF check failed?"

Thanks,

Brian

was experiencing a similar issue last week before the csrf security fix when I tried to upload any more than three images at a time.

Tried using V@no's multi upload and Budduke's multiupload that he created for the user category.

Hi -

Thanks for the bbcode update!

I have read and reread your instructions and but I still do not understand where these files fit into the MOD [other than the bbcodev3]:

* gametrailer_addon.zip (1.56 KB - downloaded 1 times.)
* csde_file_addon.zip (1.75 KB - downloaded 0 times.)
* bbcodev3.zip (30.87 KB - downloaded 2 times.)
* megavideo.zip (1.94 KB - downloaded 0 times.)
* gamespot.zip (1.79 KB - downloaded 0 times.)

Thanks,

Using v1.7.7

Pleased to report this MOD does work.

Note: did not work when a user posted on an admin-uploaded image but did work when one user commented on another user's uploaded image.

Hit me up if you want to see my files.

Okay, to follow up on the disappearing lightboxes - I set up three lightboxes exactly 6 days ago as a test case to see how long this problem took.

initial set up
Box A - had 5 dog pics
Box B - had 4 food pics
Box C - had 3 friend pics

Now:

Box A - has 3 friend pics from Box C; all 5 dog pics are gone
Box B - has 3 friend pics from Box C; all 4 food pics are gone
Box C - has 3 friend pics

What a mystery!

Thanks for any ideas or thoughts.

Brian

[edit]

Have spent hours today trying to compare db fields to see if I can find any commanility; nothing to report.

Has anyone else used this mutli-light box, as in saved images to several boxes, and then revisited the boxes later?  I wonder if this phenomenon is common to every install and no one has actually seen it happening...

Mods & Plugins (Requests & Discussions) / Re: multi-category rss feed

Strange issues with multiupload on RSS display.

Using v1.7.7
php version 5.2.14
mysql version 5.1.47

After lots of success on getting the RSS to display for a given category and all categories below, we seem to have a hiccup that I thought only  happened with multiupload.  Now it seems that any upload by ftp, or multiupload does not create an upated RSS display.  Only the individual uploaded images are allowing the RSS feed to update.

[edit] issue solved - in edit categories in the 4images admin control panel, you need to have selected "all' for view category and view image

Thanks,

Brian
