I don't understand what it means, but i did "check Yes" autothumnail in the "General\Setting\" but when I try the "Images\Auto-Thumbnailer I go the error below: can someone help thankx

This means you haven't selected a module that will create the thumbnails.  4images works with:

ImageMagick (http://www.imagemagick.org)
GD (http://www.boutell.com/gd)
NetPBM (http://netpbm.sourceforge.net)

You'll find this under the "General Settings" in the admin control panel.

I use the "ImageMagick-5.5.2" but I don't know how to config to get it work. under WinXP...

my config undert the "General\Setting" H:/Program Files/ImageMagick/ but it says "

on windows system u must add convert.exe at the end.
in your case it should look like this:
H:/Program Files/ImageMagick/convert.exe
