Installation, Update & Configuration / Htacess file
« on: April 03, 2003, 06:06:43 AM »
Hi, I heard this file makes it so people can't link to directory directly. Such as go to their browser and type in www.mypage.com/images they'll get an error if I had placed the htaccess file into the directory correct? Anyhow if it is correct can anyone show me how to make one and what to put in it, because my server didn't come with one and I don't know how to make one. Thanks

Installation, Update & Configuration / The Directory Thing
« on: April 02, 2003, 06:49:25 AM »
no no no liek for example, I got to www.mypage.com and I see my site, then there's the navigation stuff like 4images, members, links. So if I click on 4images I go to my image directory, but if I click on members, and I go to members page, at the top it'd show Home>members. or if I clicked on links at top of links page it'd show home>links, because I really don't want to type all this junk in myself. I want it automated

Hi, you know how 4images at the top goes like Home>Pictures>Anime and stuff, it tells you where you're at, can you tell me where I can get like a script to do that? Becuse I'm running 4 images as my image script but I'd like to be able to do that directory thing on my main page as well, thanks.

Hi, I made a new page and it contains reviews on it, however the {user_box} doesn't appear as user box but it appears as {user_box}. So I'm thinking that it probably only works on 4images templates, until I saw this one site, and he had done this somehow but he wasn't willing to share it. So I was wondering if anyone knew how.

I don't understand, I did remove the date thing when i customized my templates, could it be possibly that it didn't work because I only typed in {random_image} instead of the other braces as well? I just uploaded the original home template and it works even with the date php code, but when I upload my home templates, without the php code it doesn't work

Hi, when I type in the url to my site, I get this error message, it was right after I finished editing some of my template files.
Parse error: parse error, unexpected '<' in /home/ani-blad/public_html/includes/template.php(130) : eval()'d code on line 33
I found a topic titled parse error, but it was in german.

Feedback & Suggestions / Jan/Nicky MUST READ
« on: July 22, 2002, 08:20:40 AM »
OMG!, I just had the worst time today, I had to add in a bunch of links to my site, so I had to go through all the template files that had the layout in it and change it. So I'm here to give you a major tip. How about in the next version you include the top part of the site in the header, and then the bottom part in the footer, then in the categories and error and register and lightbox pages, you just include the lightbox and register and all the content stuff. Then you include these things into the header and footer somehow, which would then appear on the home page.
Ex. Make it somethin easy like SSI, because I'm so exhausted from makin those changes, tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook me forever. Anyhow I'll c you guys around

YO, I was just wondering if the downloads were anti-leech as in like nobody can link directly to them so they don't eat away at my bandwidth. L8ta[/quote]

In Version 1.6, When I type in my username and password the page refreshes adn it shows on the users online thing that I the admin had logged in, however in the spot where the user box and pass box was it doesn't show the lightbox, control panel and the other user options and to make it worse it doesn't show the control option at the bottom of the page even though it says I'm logged in in the users logged in box.  Instead it continues to show the user box and pass box even though it says I'm logged in at the users online box, and that user online box thing seems to display false info, sometimes it jumps t 4 users and I'm logged in and then jumps to 10 and back down, and my site isn't listed anywhere. Also whenever I type my password in for the control panel the login page just refreshes as well, and it doesn't take me to the control panel.

That happened to me once, so I decide to delete everything and install the 1.6 Version along with the patch, and the language, pack and everything worked out fine. So why don't you try that, until jan or nicky can get to ya. L8t

Installation, Update & Configuration / STYLE css Problems
« on: July 10, 2002, 05:23:42 AM »
Well, what I'm really asking is what each of those headers in the style sheet means, cause I have no idea how to edit them if I don't know what's for what. Anyhow it's nice to know I'm not the only viet person out there usin 4images

Installation, Update & Configuration / STYLE css Problems
« on: July 10, 2002, 12:08:57 AM »
Hi, I've been working with the style cascade sheet for hours and can't seem to figure out which things edit which things. For Ex...
ul, li, p, td {
  color: #004c75;
  font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
  font-size: 11px;
What are the things highlighted above in bold for, I can't figure it out, so I was wondering if someone could post the meanings of all of those things, cause I just don't get it, and it's drivin me nuts. One more thing how do I update to 4images 1.6 without losing all my settings, templates, and current users. Thanks, l8t

bump, double bump, tripple bump ..

only a joke ;)

in templates you will see a lot of {   } Tags, just use the same in your new templates...

YES, I finally get it, only one question left, I don't know what some of those variables in between the braces mean. One more thing what does this mean "; echo"
