Creating medium sized pictures

I really need some help with creating medium sized pictures automaticly when i upload new images.
As it is right now, the BIG picture is first shown in fullsize on the details page before it´s resizing to the with i hardcoded in the script.

So it would be better to even create a medium sized picture (like the thumbnail) when uploading new pictures and then show the medium picture on the details page.
Then when someone clicks on the medium picture, then the large original pricture will be opend in a new window.  All of this is really hard to explain for me, but i think that some of you know what i´m trying to say.   

Is there a mod for this, or can someone please help me!?

Not really sure how thoose mods work.

When i upload a new image (as user or in admin cp), will a medium sized picture be created the same way as a thumb?

I know that coppermine has this function where a medium sized pictures gets created when uploading a new picture.
And then when clicking on the medium sized picture, the original sized picture will open in a new window.

This will resize the image to the max width you set in your settings, In otherwards you can set your size for medium size pictures.

This will take the original image and place it into a folder. So when you click on the medium size image (the one you set max width for) it will bring the original image up which is usually much larger unless it was edited prior to the upload.

Otherwise yes, this mods works pretty close to the same way as creating thumbnails.
