header/banner editing problem: what should I edit?

On the first page the header / banner is how I want it to be, but under the categories the banner is tiny and is not covering what used to be the search field. I don't know what to edit to get the banner to be the same size on all pages.

This might have been asked before, but I couldn't find it.   :oops:
