Title: Upload pictures via FTP
Post by: bleema on May 31, 2003, 03:48:03 PM
Hey!

Could someone perhaps tell me how it works to upload pictures via FTP?
I just installed my gallery and everything works fine...but as I have to upload about 2,600 pictures I would perfer to do it via FTP :)

But now, when I uploaded them via FTP into an excisting category, my gallery system doesn't recognise the pictures at all...
WHY? What do I have to do?
When I upload them via browser everything is just fine....

greets,
johannes

FAQ: http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=3080.0

An Abstract:

      1.  Use "Add Categories" ...
      2.  Once created, go to "Edit Categories" and move your mouse over a specific category in the list into which you want to upload new images.  ...
      3.  Use FTP to upload your images to 4images/data/media/<number> ...
      4.  Go back to the admin control panel and click "Check New Images"....

Note:  I haven't tested this myself.  Going to tho, as I'm in a similar position (only got 1k pics tho)

Only your hosting provider can tell you that info.  It's most likely NOT the same as your 4images admin user/password
