Installation, Update & Configuration / random images, new pictures not showing up properly

when I try to upload an image, the "real image" is not showing up on index page. Instead of the real image I get a "avatar" and when I click that avatar the real image is showing up. Is it posible to get the image to show up on index page instead of this avatar picture...
