Removing Jpeg icon

Probably a very basic question but I have installed the program and uploaded an image. On the home page there is an "eye" with jpeg written in it, rather than seeing the image. If I click on the "eye," I then see the correct image. Suspect there is something in the config but can't find it. So, could someone please help me out...

Not sure if it is the "correct" fix, but I was able to get things working by uploading a thumbnail and the image. I was under the impression that the program would automatically create a thumbnail from the uploaded image. If so, then that is another issue.
