CGI

Hi everybody
View days ago, I read some information about cgi. I've never heard before something about cgi.
Is cgi used in images4? And when not, why is it not used? What is the advantage using cgi or not using cgi?
Thank you for answering me.

This forum might answer your question :

Regarding `why ` CGI is not being used with 4images :
- PHP is much faster and uses less server ressources during load-time and is far more customizable comparing to CGI (which has limitations in the language infrastructure).
