I have many users asking why th useravatar and the name in the comments isn't linked to the profile, so the exact function {comment_user_profile_button} does. Anyone can help me ?

Hello,

I just wanted to ask you that. My site is growing, now i have about 20 users online, but after some commercials next month on tv, the expected users online simultaneosly will be about 200 - 400. Can 4images handle this? My installation has about 50 MODs installed, i know that could slow down the site, but i don't want do get database or server errors, so i'am asking this

Hi there,

so, since i've tried to add remote MP3-files to my gallery, but it isn't good, because its slowing down my gallery dramaticly, i used the search and found many requests about a "Post a link" MOD, what would be a great idea, and great for me too, because it would solve my problem.

Since i'am working with 4images one year now, i think i can do it myself, i tried but i have to use a news publishing MOD, and it would be not very user-friendly. So here is the features needet fr such a MOD.

- links.php
A page where users have the option oto post a link, with a name. Posting a link has to be private, e.g., i want to give the rights in the ACP what user have rights to post a link.

The link displayed:
- link name
- link url
- posted by
- date

Thats it If anyone has time to code it, some users including me would be very gratefull. I can give you serverspace for a testing-4images installation with FTP-access if its needet. Thats the only thing i can help with.

Hello,

so, i'am not having trouble when i upload an mp3, it works fine. The problem is, i use other webspace for my MP3's to save traffic. But when i upload a MP3 with a remote link it gives me "choose a picture" . So next thing i tried is to put the link into the image box (next to "browse") , but that dont work of course.

Ive read the FAQ about this, and searched the forum, but i didnt found an answer for remote mp3 files

Hello,

Most of my users use Internet Explorer to view my site. Now, some of them tell me, tey have to login again after every action, independent if that is rating an image,
viewing an image etc. They have all "accept cookies" activated, some of them with IE 5.5, some iith the newest version.

I asked many peole about this, but no one can give me a solution. About 3/4 of my registred users cant view my page because of that error, and they dont come back of course

Thats hard, to code and design 2 months a site, and after that just a single part of users can view it. Please help me, i really dont know what to do.

Just a thought: Can it be that, because i include the header.html like "<include geader.php etc .." in the templates. Anyone who is trieng to find the solution can use the test-account i did for this:

I have the following problem. I have for example 400 pictures marked as new on my site. When a user clicks on the "Show New Images"
link, he gets the result, but it it sorted by raiting - not by date. How to change this? I try change the setting in the ACP but it still stands the same.

I made a new topic, because its a new problem.

The situation:
User log in normally - hes shown in user online list -> user is some minutes not activ -> user is not shown in the list / or shown as a guest, but he is NOT logged out.

The problem is new, i uninstalled all last MODs i have used, but no result. Replacing session.php with original one - no success.

Actualy, the active users are shown in the "last user online" panel, but some of them dont show up in the whois online ...

I've trieng to modify my userlist this way:

Under the regular whos_online list LINK to more detailed version which shows currently logged users this way:

Username
Userpic / Avatar
Usergender
Userlocation
etc.

So i've maked a new file, called useronline.php and used the code from the index. Next step, i've maked a useronline.html for the template.
But how to register the other fields in the detailed who's online? I've allready installed all necessary MODs.

Hello,

i hope you can really help me on this, because it is very important to me. I try to use my 4images gallery also as an "dating" service, so i modified the profile to look like a normnal dating site - ok.

I added gender, city (country), age and some other details for each member. I have two small problems:

When a new user registers, i added the gender and the location, but when i add the birthday fields it doesnt work. There are the dropdown options, but there are no numbers or months in it just nothing. Maybe i have to register that field in the register.php? If yes, how dto do that? Actually if tried to put it in like this:

My second question is a little bit harder. I want to have two searches on my site, the regular search for images, comments etc., and new search just for users. So users can search for:

- username
- user age
- user gender
- user country/city
- show only user with picture / yes or no

Is there a way to do this? My site grows and too many users want that feature  I dont know what to do so i hope anyone can help me.

Hello,

so i thought about the dreamboard forum, there are just to many bugs, beside of that, there have to be more regular forum options, so i decided to ask a php coder to completely rewrite that forum, to an completely new and working addon. Of course i have to pay him, but i don't want that to be a payed MOD for you - but you can donate 

When its done, i will post it of course on the 4images forum, as a little contribute for all the help i recieved since i'am using 4images.
The forum will not longer be called "Dreamboard" because of the whole new structure and new options. Even if i'll pay for it, it will be remain an open source project.

Features of the new board:

- Avatar support
- Image support iin topics
- ALL bbcode/2 support, smileys etc.
- Recent posts on main-page (not only the past 5, more options to show)
- User post-rankings
- Write PM from topic
- Completely new ACP configuration for the board
- Better integration of user-bord statistics in member-profile.
- Regular board options who where missing in dreamboard
- e.t.c.

Of course, some functions can only be udes if you install the required MODs. But we will try to make the installation simple.

If you have any ideas, what the board must have, now its the time to say it. The writing of that addon begins next week, estimate BETA version avalible end of this month.

Also i need BETA-testers, everyone who will participate in this should write here in this topic.

Hello,

Now that i have about 200 users on my site, i have some that are complaining that they are "kicked" out of the system, and have to login again every 3-5 minutes, even if their checkbox "log me in automaticly every..." is checked.

So i thought, that they have a problem on their pc, but the users with this kind of problem are getting more and more.
I've searched about an hour the forum, but i can't find a topic that is referring to that kind of problem (when NOT EVERY user is kicked out).

So where is the problem? Why some users have that problem, some not?

is there any way to ad manually a title to an user? So that the title is shown in the profile, in the whos online etc. But i dont want this to be automatic, just selected users from the admin... like "vip" , "mrs. xxx" and so one.

Anyone has a clue?

So i put hat code in every site i've made in my 4images installation.
But my problem is the following: When i'd make a mistake in the menue, or want to add an additional link, i have to edit this on ALL sites, so the question is, is there a way to make or example a "menue.html" and to include it on every page by something like "{menue}" ? So that i have just a single file to edit when i want to change the menue ?

I know, that maybe sounds very simple, but i can't get it work. All i want is a link in the userbox, "View your profile", for the normal users. so the userbox looks like:

Album (the lightbox)
Edit Profile (control panel)
View Profile (The profile of that user account) The same way it looks like an other user click on that username
Exit (Logoff)
etc.


Whats the link for that option, ot have i to edit the member.php etc?
