cant edit templates

Hi
i have not used my 4images admin panel for long , and recently i was trying insert an advertisement in the category.html and details.html but whatever i insert there is not getting saved . and even if i open the file from ftp and paste the code there , it does not display .
what could be wrong ?

PHP Version 4.4.2
MySQL 4.1.15

i have also added a screenshot of my admin cp, which i had edited once to remove other admins to access the templates or settings
but i have also now forgotten which file i edited to hide it
so if you can help in that too , would appreciate .,
