Hi, I have received an email through this board from a member 'vasasha' whom I do not know.
I contains a link to a supposed new MOD called SimplyAddGallery.
There is a link to a 'demo' with a demo admin and if you login it shows the following 'control panel'

However, the link to the supposed demo-gallery is a buy now-link.
I did not click on it because I am afraid it could be some kind of phishing thing.
Is it only me or is this a mass email?

I got 2 emails and 2 Private Messages. I was offended because to me they are nothing but SPAM. Hopefully someone will look into this. Thanks.

I received two PMs and two e-mails as well.
I really don't mind being messaged for normal reasons, but if I want a mod, I'll find it myself -- thanks. This seems like a case of phishing to me.

well i'm just more one example... i've receive twice times (mail,pm(1))
this is really necessary send pm's and mails.... this looks more at spam ... when exist a apropiate thread for mods, where all people can watch , if we wish....

I get yesterday and today a PM from this spammer.
Please block this Phishing Spammer or should we send him our new "Phishing Bank Mails" ?

This board,s aministrator should sort out this spamming problem to prevent such scum from operating and lowering the tone of the forum.
I for one object most strongly to this type of exploitation of the members data base.
I did reply to the spammer's message letting him know what a distasteful piece of rubish he was and sent BCC to Jan but no response as yet.
The Ignore List seems the way to go, by adding every handle he uses.
Jan should be able to get an ip range from the logs that he uses for registration and do some banning and abuse reporting.
Just to add some good late breaking news.
Nicky the admin has locked and will be deleting the thread and its author stinger, vasasha and maybe elvos:

I thank him and hope this will be a leason to spammers who try to abuse this great Forum.

I see that 'stinger' and 'vasasha' have been deleted from the member's list but 'elvos' remains.
Perhaps you might like to PM nicky the admin to delete also this other handle of the spammer. He received spam from vasasha so would be in the mood to ban every handle this specimem uses.
If anyone else that reads this thread knows of any more handles that he uses it might also be a good idea to let admin know.
Lets try and stamp out this spam menace once and for all and any one else that tries it on.

I have made it, since have been indignant, that that could not place the [MOD] in a board Mods and Plugins (Publishing and Support)" for discussion...
Second, 2 Nicky, interdiction IP will not help... I go through proxy and you have forbidden any others IP :)
I Can prompt how to make protection against a spam in PM.

First let's understand "spam" I sent?
Answered me "thanks" = srijit, Bugfixed, Ron, Sparsh, Vajid, EESA, badburn, multipede, DataMAX
"Stop" = janfy, Izzy, Steel Rat
Total:
9 = "Thanks", 3 = "Stop"
Second, (protection against a spam in PM)
- Increase time of the flud-control over 30 seconds, and than about one minute is better for one IP (though I have easily deceived it).
- Generate a sessional protective code on all pages!!! The code is generated on all pages, only at reloading pages with the form, he changes, and without the form - does not change. I have taken advantage of it.
Let's sum up.
I did not want whom to offend by the dispatch, I only have given the information, to those users who required her.
I.e. I did not send the offer to buy "viagra" or something other, I have particularly given the information about [Mod] for gallery 4images.

SPAM
spam refers to the practice of blindly posting commercial messages or advertisements to a large number of unrelated and uninterested newsgroups or e-mails.
it does not matter that some say thank you, it has only you here not to regard your sendings as Spam.

I for one would still like to see this low life banned permanently from this board no matter what member ID he chooses to use. He is obviously a very devious being and would be a poor proposition for any kind of trust relationship knowing that he had to resort to using proxies to hide his posting and spamming activities. After all, a Leopard can't change it's spots.
I just feel some sympathy for those who were sucked in and paid out their hard earned cash (and thanked him), even giving him their CC details perhaps. I hope for their sake that the encrypted code contains nothing malicious but you would only have his word that it doesn't.
He aslo uses a low quality machine translation program/script from Dutch to English, so one has to try an work out what he is really trying to say.

But honestly who would buy a mod if you can't even see a demo first? And packaging the demo in a buy now link speaks volumes about the the seller.
Beside this why would anybody need to buy a mod for batch upload if there are already Mods available?
