Windows XP pro IIS folder/file permissions ?!!
« on: May 30, 2003, 09:32:44 AM »
Hi

I`m using windows xp pro with IIS php/mysql.
I`ve installed your script , its great.

I have one question:
the part of installation where it says "CHMOD etc." work only for unix servers , as i`m developing my website offline on my laptop with the abov mentioned configuration , i can`t change the folder/file permissions for the data folder and the other CHMODs , as i`m the only user for this laptop , i`m an admin .

Now whenever i create a category it says unable to write to the data folder , as the CHMOD on unix is 777 , its not writeable on windows.

Also it can`t upload the images as there is no folder created , the entry in the database is OK , but the folder does not get created.

The documentation doesn`t mentioned how to set the permissions in windows , tried searching this forum no solution found , tried to search the internet also nothing.

Any help would be appreciated :D

We all use *nix

But I'm sure somebody around here uses IIS and will be able to help you out.  Just be patient.

in iis go to the site and right click on the dir, select properties, u need to enable write access to the folder, its a little tic box.

u might think about apache on your laptop, there are some install files out there that do apache php and mysql install all together

now can someone point me in the direction of english install instructions?

Right click in 4images folder, Properties, Advanced, check box " Folder is ready for achiving and " For fast searching......." Then OK, and In POP UP screen "Apply to this folder and sub-folders"... OK

Good luck
