confirmation problem/receiving email

Can anyone please tell my why when I test my website by registering and it tells me that I have got an email to confirm but I never got an email.

Also Can anyone tell me why I am getting this please. "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /home/athletes/public_html/gallery/includes/upload.php on line 97" Thank you.
