I really have better things to do in life than spend it arguing with someone who assumes superiority on the basis of negligible data. Your opinions about me are a matter of some indifference as you know no more about my online experience than I do about yours.
The suggestion, made in good faith, was that for mixed galleries containing both pictures and video files, it may be possible to leave the standard download script alone, so that the picture viewing/download was unchanged, then using avi.html (which is only invoked for vidoe files) to link to a simple download script instead of trying to play and/or load the video files into server memory.
If that was a naive suggestion then I apologise to the useful members of this board for wasting their time.
