Hi.
I would like to suggest that someone create the possibility of being able to postpone adding content. For instance, 1-6 months ahead.
The great thing about being able to do that, is that your site will always look fresh and updated if, for example, you get 4images to automatically upload a new picture every day.
Let me hear what you all think of that, as I think this is something we could all use.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?
Thanks a bunch :D

That might not be useful to all users as some might use HTTP Auth which would failed to accept automated upload pictures.

It would seems so. However, like I said, this function might not work for everyone since not all web hosters tolerates automated uploads.
Personnaly, I think it would be worth the try. Althought, I'm not the one who's going to code it. ;)

I dont know if this is the same, but coudnt it be written not to activate untill a certain point.
You can go threw and upload the file, have it create the thumbnail and everything. but it would become activate for a certain amount of time.
just a thought

The only way to do so would be by setting your categories by GUEST levels. From there, everybody could upload pictures for a certain time. The problem is, since 4images is being used on many different countries ... how could we determine on which time exacly will the timeout be active ? ;)

hmm.....
it really wouldn't matter what the time it is at a certain user's place - just x+ days from time of upload.
So, as I understand it, an Admin could add an image like normal (this would be an Admin job only, where images can only be added - or images in certain categories could be added - only by an Admin. Otherwise, users would wonder "where's my image?")
An extra box in the Admin panel, near "Activate Image" could have a box telling the db to "activate the image in xxx days" - 3 days, 10 days, 160 days - whatever. It could be subroutine of the activate function.
....but I'm not gonna code it....

Actually, it works from the level you choose from ACP - > Categories for your uploads. If you set it on guests, everybody could upload some images.
As for the activate image, I do not use this feature personally.

i don't either - I just leave it ticked on all the time. For a MOPD like this, though, it could be a place to start looking... :?:

Sounds like there's some valid ideas here. Could work with everything being uploaded like normal, but just with the "Activate in X days".
Could work, could work...
Now; Who's up for it?

Agreed.
Now, any takers?
