Merging Details and Categories? Possible?

Firstly, let me thank you for such an amazing tool.  It's really mad my life much easier.

Now on with my question.  I am really looking to merge the details and categories pages, so the user has a full sized picture on the categories.php page, with three thumbnails under it.  An example of what I am looking for is shown here >> http://www.newbiesinc.com/CATS.jpg.

This may just mean adding the lower three thumbnails from the categories.php page over to the details.php page, but for the life of me I can't work out how to make this work without having some bug or another.

Could someone please shed some light on how to make the appropriate three thumbnails (from the same category) appear on the details page?  Any help would me appreciated greatly.

but what if we really want to merge categories and details
I mean, put the thumbnails of the categorie in the details
like this:


what code do we need to paste in details?
or maybe copy some code of categories.php to details.php ?
what do you think?
