I will pay $$ somebody to modify 4images...
« on: June 09, 2003, 12:27:49 AM »
Hello All,
I will seriously pay somebody if they can modify the 4images script so that all images are served up by a script, where that script checks referrers, and allows the images to be stored in a specified path.

The image serving script is already written, here's the one I want to use:
http://www.thesitewizard.com/archive/protectimages.shtml

But I would need that somehow integrated into the 4images pages.
Anybody up for this challenge?

Thanks

I've read that, and it's pretty much worthless to me since I don't understand the code, nor do I have time to figure this out, which is why I'm offering money.

If you web hosting plan has the cPanel tool, there's a function called HotLink protection.  It does what you want.  Try it out! :)

Yeah, I saw that, and I'm trying it out, I just have a feeling it uses a form similar to .htaccess, with doesnt work worth crap.
I'll see how it goes tho.

The .htaccess form of hotlink protection is fairly worthless, as more often that not, it blocks people who are visiting the site from the proper domain.
I've had very minimal problems with the script I mentioned above.

At any rate, maybe I should have put a <opinion>, because I know people are gonna come back blabbing about referers not getting sent by some browsers, etc.
