I just finish 8 more templates for 4images version 1.7.4
this template I test in local intranet in my computer
with Internet explorer version 7.0 and also the firefox v 2.x it's work fine.

Very nice, mantra, thanx! But still a bit buggy.... Please check your templates at high screen resolution - there's a number of problems with table width.

they are v nice skins nice work especially the gray one. I think anything above 1024 * 768 gives a line on the right side of the template as it doesnt 100% or center itself.

hey man only one problem left thaty i can find. THats with sub categories. When u try and make one it messes up. I get a broken image on teh front page with the sub categories.

for some reason i keep getting this error:

What version of 4images did you use ? [this template is for 4images version 1.7]
Did you read aREAD ME FIRST.html file before install the template.
:arrow: I think your error not from the templates, maybe because one of you php file or wrong folder directory you put your file templates.
:arrow: or when you extract the file zip there is two folder the same name of the templates you must remove one,before you can use in your 4images.

hi, i am using 4images 1.7, and the files are in the correct location. i downloaded some other templates by http://www.vierstra.com/4images.htm and they all worked fine. so i am not sure why i can't get your templates to work.

hi mantra, you did a great job. I tried the blue template, but under linux it works very bad. Most graphics aren't showed.
I tell you why: linux is case sensitive and many filenames are uppercase while they should be lowercase.
Renaming those files makes the template starts to work.

hey i had some problems with 2 images not showing up and no even being included in the package... so i made them :p

I've had the same problem as Razgo. I've checked everything, including permissions, and installed it as I have for my other 3 galleries. I don't understand the error. Error pointed to /media/jpg.html
Any idea?

Just rename THIS to this for each file and folder name in the template.

try your folder in lowercase [ GREY to grey]
and check all file, it must in lowercase to.
or update with smart FTP in tool - setings tranfers chose upload in lowercase.

In large part, the problem is CAPITALIZATION OF FILENAMES.
Remember folks, most of your web hosts run on Linux or Unix which are CaSe SeNsItIvE, you will need to rename any files in these templates that are CAPITALIZED so they are lowercase.
That will solve some of the problems.
The templates still don't view properly on the Mac, though.
I tested Mozilla 1.3, Camino 0.7.0, Safari, Internet Explorer 5.2.

For everybody who got problem with upercase file name in linux with this templates.
I recomended one program [ freeware ] who can change all file and folder in minute to lowercase.

there was no bmp.html included in the download package.
i have temporarily copied & renamed the jpg.html to bmp.html.

I check already in default template there is no bmp.html file with the 4images default package too. :wink:

the grey theme is not showing up properly when viewed with mozilla (1.3, release version), with IE it is fine.

I tired looking at the source code for the blue templates and can't see what went wrong with the preview. The page is not showing properly. There seems to be a couple of missing gifs on the left side. I'm using Windows2000 and IE6. I wonder if there's really a problem of compatibility here. I've just started creating a gallery and learning how to customize an existing template. Could someone tell me how to fix this?

Here's the url for the site: theboardwalker gallery (http://www.theboardwalker.com/gallery/index.php) as you can see, there's nothing in it yet, just the templates i put in there. i still have to customize it but the page doesn't seem to show up properly. i just hope u'll take a look and let me know what's up with it.

OMG! thanks for pointing that out. I asked some friends and they all told me it looks ok then i found out it could be the screen resolution.
What i could say now is that on the screen of Windows2000 IE6 the layout looks broken. I tried it using Windows 98 IE6 and looks fine but when i go to the register.php, u'll notice there's a gap on the lower left sidebar. And after successfull registration, the page is also broken. When you accessed as a user, now you'll find out the screen that i've posted here earlier. Please go to my site again and use this account:

Let me know if it's ok on your side. The upload page also has the same broken sidebar. The layout of the registration terms is also broken. Please check it out.

You made mestake on home.html table, I think you already edit this file.

the result was the same on both windows98 and 2000 with IE6. The guest view of the home index is fine but when you logged in as a registered user, the broken side bar shows up in two places, on the upload page, there's a gap on the lower left bar. i have the feeling that something could have been missing in the index.php. it's just a guess. i tried changing the html but couldn't fix it. i now re-uploaded the original download i got from your site and the result is still the same. i went to your site and it looks ok to me both from the guest as well as registered members. the html is fine i think...could be in the php scripts or somewhere but couldn't tell coz i'm no php expert. anyway, i hope you'll check the site again using the account i gave earlier. the guest viewing is fine but when u logged on as a user, you'll see the gaps that I've been saying. again, thanks.

OK I FOUND WHERE IS MISTAKE, some of table not load because there is no image yet in your gallery.
try upload one image with the thumbnail in one of category you have.
then try it.

yep, you are right! i uploaded some pictures and it solved the problem. now i got to create the thumbnails as the resolution isn't good. currently, GD is the only one installed in my server. I might as well install imagemagic later. i accidentally reduced the file size of the images and they suddenly looked awful! :cry:
anyhow, i would like to say many thanks for your beautiful template and for your great help in solving my problems!

synthetic version 1.0.
Though Your have many good free stuffs there but only this one is fit my PC 640 resolution.
More than that, this one can fit on phpBB / 4images , consistent on both interfaces.

Your template works fine though i had missing icons for the category, found that you only include 9 category icon category1.gif ect, i simple made a new folder though and copyed them in, then renamed to category11.gif and so on. I know theres not alot you can do because you cant make ifint category sybols but if you could include a readme it might help some new comers out if there wonder why there seeing missing icons on there gallery. Thank you and its a great job your doing :lol:

Hi peppino,
you need to change detail.html .. there is a little error which worked with 4.7.1 but 4.7.2 does not accept it anymore.

Wonderful design, but I don't understand how it works with category images? As I installed the template on localhost, the category symbol was marked by a red x. I Have about 15 categories and I do not know how to tell the template where to become the iamge, or is that working automatically.
Is there something I have to do when I install the template?
Someone here had the same problem but wrote something about gif-images to install ??? Please help me.

Some time ago you advised me for the use of category-pictures, it works nice.
But there is a small thing i w'd like to resolve, when I give a long category text, which means it will be edited in 2 lignes, the second line comes not at the same place, but one caractere before, as this:

these kind of different beginning can may be depending of the symbol I use, but for the last 2 ex. these are the standard symbols of the template.
But on the other side, I mean on the second colomn of categories, everything is very well, but there only one-line -titels.

hello, Mantra!....you wrote "you welcome" means that the question before depends only on the icon size it seems ;-) or can I somewhere change something as "center" to "left"?
By trying to do some modifaction on 4images_dark startpage --- in fact I try to elimenate the left colomn with login and so on and to use this space for one or two bloc of text instead -- but I come not over with my method of try and error.
Please can you show me how to create a box on this left side, with the same background.

The space (menuhead) in the middle of the left side may stay there to separat two bloc of text.

and here you can see also that the category names and symbols in the standard are not on the same vertical ligne, can I do something to make it "right".
Also I ask me if I would stay with the images slider. Another solution could be to lay under the site content/template presentation - a little bit how a screensaver in XP - a big backgrund image instead of the black background, is that a "template question" or should I eventually look for the anser in the forum search first?

yes, matra, here is an image where you see the two textfields I would like to insert, may be as two fields on the top and bottom of the "spacer-symbol" or as one textfield without the exisisting symbol.
The red vertical lign is to see that there are here differences in the alignement of the symbols and of the category names.
And the modifaction in the code (only elimination) I did in the site "home".

Yet with his agreement, you can download them for free at my own website, here, at manurom's 4images templates (http://www.ami07.info)
Enjoy all.
But, please, let me repeat that you have to be fair and keep all Mantra's copyrights.
If not, you may not find in the future free templates. Templates developers should be bored to see so much often their licences not repected.
It would be a real damage. :(
I'm ready to retire the downloads if I believe Mantra's work is not respected as it should be.

I am receiving an error when attempting to unpack the zip file. "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged" I have had not trouble opening other zips, but nit this one. Has anyone else had this problem or know where I can fine a clean zip?

Hello and welcome to 4images forum.
Unfortunately links to the zip files on the download page are not correct, it could be temporary though.
Meanwhile try go through the replies and see if someone attached or provided a correct link.

Could not find an active link. That to bad for me, his stuff was perfect for what I needed. I may have to use a different gallery program to get the template I need. :(

hey mantra, check your mod rewrite in .htaccess something from there is messing your links, almost half website its not accessible.
