Title: Number of images supported?
Post by: webtrade on December 27, 2008, 09:21:09 AM
Hello,

Does anyone please know if there is a limitation to the number of images supported by 4images Gallery? Has anyone pushed it past a few thousand images?

Cheers
Rob

Hello,

There is no restriction, which is nonsense.

I have more than 57.000 images.

On my local test site (using[PROGRAM] 4images Mobile Server (http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=18352.0)) I have over 330k images.

4images is almost unmodified, with default settings. I had to disable random images feature, it would take about 10-20 sec for the home page to open when it was enabled.
The test was with 1 simulation connection, with admin account (PRINT_QUERIES enabled), cache disabled.

Home page:
Page generated in 1.697322 seconds with 8 queries, spending 1.584000 seconds doing MySQL queries and 0.113322 doing PHP things. GZIP compression disabled

A category with 10k images and 30 images per page, first page:
Page generated in 0.529909 seconds with 7 queries, spending 0.369000 seconds doing MySQL queries and 0.160909 doing PHP things. GZIP compression disabled

Same category, 30 images per page, last page:

Details page of the first image from same category:
Page generated in 0.615506 seconds with 10 queries, spending 0.527000 seconds doing MySQL queries and 0.088506 doing PHP things. GZIP compression disabled

Details page of the last image in same category:
Page generated in 0.696011 seconds with 10 queries, spending 0.533000 seconds doing MySQL queries and 0.163011 doing PHP things. GZIP compression disabled

Search page with 40 search results (30 images per page):

Changing to last page (3 images per page):
Page generated in 3.672184 seconds with 11 queries, spending 3.455000 seconds doing MySQL queries and 0.217184 doing PHP things. GZIP compression disabled
