which php file(s) contain the the coding for displaying new images and what would the coding be to suppress MPG, MOV, AVI when showing new images

question  - i would like to have the IPTC Object name automatically inserted as the image name instead of the default filename assigned

(reference your Auto IPTC into discription field when check new images - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2100&highlight=)

can you post the appropriate code for this modification to check new images routine

hey all

i would like to modify the SEARCH feature so that it returns the found images -

    highest cat_id #, filename/IPTC Object Name (ascending)....

without affecting the ACP image settings or using 'let users set their own sort order' ... mod

chris -

the reason i posted this is that i am not proficient in web design nor the internal workings of 4images tables/functions/etc, coding ...  

i can follow the posts and do cut and paste and simple deletes etc ..
(as are many of the others that read the forum !! )

i appreciate the help you offer the forum  ... but how can i make the coding you posted work for me ?

as it stands - i can make a dropdown box and select the dropdown item .. then what ?? .. what is the coding that searches the database to return images and which files (i know in the templates how to place the drop box - does the coding go before/after the box?) ....

this appears to be why i had problems finding fotos that i loaded on the current day ... at the stroke of midnite .. they would magically appear in the search ....

well no pumpkins heres now

i think i've found some kind of bug in the mod...

i installed it on my site today, and now, that is counting as 27 of June, when i search for all my images on the server (***), it doesn't appear the pics that were submitted after the 0am of June 27.

why's that, why doesn't search images that were submitted on the present day?
they all have words with more than 3 letters...
i don't understand it
 

any thoughts??

hey all -

i have noticed that it takes up to several hours for the database to process all the new images that i upload before the search feature will find them -

and this is after i do a rebuild search index - and sometimes after i do a database MyphpAdmin repair -

this is such a strange situation - i thought the mysql routines processed the data in real time

any ideas?

hey all -

i would like to create several '1-Click' shortcut search buttons or a drop-down box that does the same - that will screen all the images for a particular search term - [in my case a particular movie studio or client name] -

this is the '1-click search for dummies' version where one does not have to think - just do !!  

the '1-click' button or drop-down box shortcut should be viewable on all a pages either under the search box at the top or to the left under the random image ..

my guess the easiest way to do this is thru a plug-in where the admin can create, add, modify the list accordngly - several of my clients have requested this type of shortcut to specific material

this mod/plug-in should not be confused with the 'more like this' feature currently available or the standard search features

anyone up for the creative challenge?

here are snippets from the detail page for displaying the thumbnail at the bottom of the page -

 : - on your site you have managed to reduce the size of your thumbnails proportionally when using them in the body of your categories etc ...

can you provide the code so that i can display the thumbnail proportionally in a smaller size for the detail page ... ( and of course for any other pages !!)) ... without altering the autothumbnailer size that i currently use (150 pixels by 80% quality)
