config.php file STILL doesn't work?
« Reply #15 on: May 02, 2003, 02:22:30 PM »
I got through that section's error now.

It created a config.php file which I put into the 4images directory.

now what? no error, but don't know what to do from this point.

I tried to add information that I saw somewhere else in the forums, but I have no clue where to go from here.

Do I need to go to some "control panel" screen or something?

Thanks for your help.  I really appreciate it.

if u can see the 4images page and no errors, then go to:
http://yoursite/4images/admin/
Your first three "must do" before you ask a question:
Please do not PM me asking for help unless you've been specifically asked to do so. Such PMs will be deleted without answer. (forum rule #6)
Extension for Firefox/Thunderbird: Master Password+    Back/Forward History Tweaks (restartless)    Cookies Manager+    Fit Images (restartless for Thunderbird)

I went there and got this message:

DB Error: Bad SQL Query: SELECT setting_name, setting_value FROM 4images_settings
Table 'monica_gallery1.4images_settings' doesn't exist

I'll try to look at my database and see what I find... I'll let ya know.

Thanks.

You should also verify your config.php settings against what is posted in the FAQ here:

I think i'm getting closer.

I now have the error:

DB Error: Could not select database (monica_gallery1)

I have never created a database before, so I might be doing something wrong.  I am creating it online on my control panel.. and it's kinda confusing for me... as far as creating tables... I have the database name and user/pass created.  I dunno how to make it so that the 4images finds it

OK!

FINALLY.  I see what I am supossed to see.

NOW,  I registered a name to see what it does etc.

when I select the "lightbox" link,  there is a greyed out button that says download, wont let you click.

Where do I go to upload images??

It seems like it is one thing after another.

It's not if you read the installation instructions.

Read docs/Installation.txt

I read the installation instructions over and over, but they are not very easy for someone new to this.

I as the administrator can upload images, but when I sign on as a user,
all I see is a greyed out download button, no where to upload images.
I changed the settings in the admin control panel to allow registered users to upload.

I'll mess around with it some more and see if I can get it working.
