What new and old way do you mean? The nature of a new version is development ... no need to deal with the old versions any more :)

micrsoft & co educated consumers to expect a new version each year. How else would they be able to convince buyers to spend money on the same product each year ... ?

8O Thank you for this splendid example of... economic education... the parents must be very happy and also particularly rich  :mrgreen:

even if the case can exist, most of the time, the renewal of the versions does not correspond to a real request of the users but rather to an economic logic  :twisted:
i'm talking about commercials products :wink:
