netPBM creates thumbnails of 0 bytes.

Hello,

I've read extensively through the FAQ and searched for answers to similar problems to no avail.

I recently installed netPBM 10.13 to use as an auto-thumbnailer as GD was just producing total shit.  I compiled it from the source code found at SourceForge onto a server running a Red Hat distro, kernel 2.4.18-grsec-1.9.4.

4images Gallery accepts the path that I provide as valid and when I go to create a thumbnail it delivers the following message:

Create thumbnail for: [title of image] ([name of file].jpg) ....
   Thumbnail created!

However, the thumbnails appear as big red Xs and the file is 0 bytes in size.

I have chmoded the netPBM files to 755 and as I compiled it physically on the server without an RPM, previous solutions to this problem do not seem applicable.

Can someone help me out?

Keep it real,

Rob

Rob, would you mind posting your solution as I am also having problems with NetPBM with 4images.

I know NetPBM is installed and configured correctly, as I am using it with another app.
