« on: August 05, 2002, 09:22:31 PM »
Hi,

Just wondering whats planned for the next version of 4images?  I've written 2 mods in 3 days for my gallery, and I'm hesitent to write more if a simaler function is going to be included for the next release :-)

Thanks,
Alan.

Hi,

the next version will only contain small modifications and one big new feature: easier integration with community softwares like phpBB, vB etc.

So, if want to write mods, do it. If you have a new mod, you should start a new thread with detailed instructions, i will set it as "sticky".

Hi Jan,

When I use the term "mods", what I really mean is "hack away at the code randomly until it works like I want it too" :D  I'd like to release my image-editer mod (see http://www.4homepages.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1287), but it would be pretty hard to extract the code from details.php and the templates to package up.

Writing instructions to install my code would be even harder <g>

I'll take a look at it again tomorrow, and see if I can streamline it a bit more and then release it.  My personal gallery mod should be fairly easy to install tho, I'll be finishing it off tomorrow, so I'll package it up then.

Thanks,
Alan.

PHPBB integration will be fantastic!!!

don't forget:

- multiple uploading of images
- moderator rank (to create categories)
- default layout is crap for large images... the left cell of the tables which contains login, lightbox, logout, control panel should be moved to be above... so we can allow 640x480 pictures at least

- You can now setup in constants.php if you want safe admin login with cookies (like it works now) or if you want to allow the auto login function also working for the control panel.
- Stylesheets for clickstream
- You can now choose users if you add/edit images via the control panel
- you can now reset stats for specific categories only

How soon until the next version?  I've been asking for a way to combine 4images and vBulletin for several months now!
