User validation email not being sent, why?

Im not using the smtp feature, as Im sure my server wont allow it as will neither my isp's mail server.

So, why are email validations not being sent.  I've seen this on other 4images sites too.  Another fellow from a forum about digi photography set it up, told us to register, and I did, but was never sent the email activation email.

Can anyone help with this?

in this case, u have choses:
1. try not to use SMTP at all (set it to NO)
2. set "user activation" either to "by admin" or "none" in the 4images settings.

Okay, nevermind, as it turns out I can use my servers smtp so all is right again in the world.

Now if someone would put out a mod to limit the amount of images and or limit the amount of space each users images can occupy that would be great.
