4images loading too slow *sniff*
« on: December 03, 2002, 04:13:17 AM »
Hi All.

I have just installed 4images and have done a basic intergration to the invision board. This program is wonderful ... but I have a problems with 4images loading up dratiscally slow for no apparent reason.

I thought it could be because of the random images so i disabled it, this resulted in no speed increase. I have changed settings to reduce the SQL query calls but to no avail. I also checked/disabled the the 'remote image URL check' ... but this no effect!

The server runs lighting fast with my invision forum board and the server load is minimal  :P so the server cant be to blame!

Just wondered if anyone had found any other fixes to result in the a speed increase?

Cheers everyone!  :P

I added a define('PRINT_STATS', '1'); to the /includes/constants.php to give me a idea of why things are going wrong!

Code: [Select]

Page generated in 2.477921 seconds with 13 queries, spending 0.021000 seconds doing MySQL queries and 2.456921 doing PHP things. GZIP compression enabled

Its alot of SQL queries, but the PHP time seems massive compared to my invision forum's stat's

Code: [Select]

[ Script Execution time: 0.1699 ]   [ 11 queries used ]   [ GZIP Enabled ]   [ Server Load: 0.25 ]

Does 4images loads up slow only after integration or before also?

It did run slow without the intergration, i thought that i could change the setting or look on the support forums for a fix. The intergration was only a simple link into the SQL database so I went ahead.

The funny thing now is I am trying loading up the database in opera and it seems to be loading at lot faster!  :? Does the problem lie with my IE 6 SP1?

I don't think so. The script runs on the server which has nothing to do with the browser. Hard to say from here...

If you want, you can give me ftp access and i will try to find the problem...
