Unless you have super user (root) access on the server you are using, your webhost will need to install one of the image packages.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / UNEXPECTED T-STRING error resolved

This may be a shot in the dark, but what if you try putting the HTML code version of the apostrophy where you enter in the category name, for example:

Quote
Blah Blah Don't

May be worth a try, but it doesn't solve the underlying problem.

Well, a short step by step procedure (and it may be useful to others, so we'll stick with forum communication)

1. Open phpMyAdmin
2. Select appropriate DB from left menu bar
3. Click on appropriate table that you are having problems with (you might want to do the following steps for all tables, just to make sure)
4. Click on the "Operations" tab for that table towards the top
5. Click on "Check Table"
6. If there are any errors, go back, and click "Repair Table"

Hope that helps.
I have PMed you my AIM screen name in case you wanna chat, although I will be out of town until Monday.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / upload problems! :D

Jon, since Jan gave you that link, you are now required to register your version of 4images

Just another option: you don't *need* any of the image thumbnailers if you create thumbnails manually in Photoshop or something and upload them.  I know you would want one of the image thumbnailers, but just wanted to point out it's not 100% necessairy to have them.

Do you have access to phpmyadmin?

Ahh, damn I love knowing the size of an integer :)

I'm not sure, but the root problem sounds like new things are not getting added to the search tables.  Might want to check your tables with phpMyAdmin, make sure they aren't corrupt, then compare the code that adds new info the search tables from the default install files to your current install files.

I'm at work, so I don't have the code handy, so I can't tell you exactly which files add info to the search tables, but considering how much coding you've done, I think you can snoop around and figure it out :)

Templates & Styles (Requests & Discussions) / My site

The gallery looks great!
But you are getting 2 JS errors.
Win2K with IE6 is giving these:
Quote
Line: 123
Char: 1
Error: 'document.shout" is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL: http://www.myleeneklass.com

Quote
Line: 20
Char: 2
Error: Object Expected
Code: 0
URL: http://www.myleeneklass.com

So I'm assuming by "rebuilt the inded" that you have installed and ran this:

Is that correct?

Did you make sure to put in the proper paths for either ImageMagick, or NetPBM?  That is done in the admin control panel.

There is, pinpoint exactly which file is causing the error, and re-write the way that file deals with htmlspecialchars.

It's not easy if you don't know PHP well, but that is the basic solution.

That pretty much proves it right there, a lot of these templates are modified, and as you can see, they don't deal with special characters well.
Kind of a bummer :(

Mods & Plugins (Releases & Support) / [MOD] Votes saved in DB
« on: June 17, 2003, 12:43:56 AM »
This will not be something publicly available to users.
It will be moved into my password protected admin folder very soon, but I just wanted to share what I did as far as a gui is concerned.

And at a higher level, the reason I requested this mod is because I want to find out if any users are rating all the pictures with the lowest rating just to mess up the rating system.  I've had plenty of this with my old site, and this mod provides me with a way to easily check this.
