Dear Jan,
I installed 1.7 on my laptop and run it locally.
(This way I can build my database while travelling and simply update on-line database at a later date).
1.7's work is seamless. So smooth! I had it up in 2 minutes! Great! I should up-grade the main gallery on-line soon.

Dear Jan,

I need to disable certain users from commenting    
Sorry, I was unable to solve this task myself.

I have two user groups - "Members" for good users, and "Restricted" for bad users (fortunately there are not many, but enough to mess up the things).

I assigned bad users to the Restricted group, but I can't set permissions to the "Restricted" group.

In the Admin interface of 4images there is no dropdown "Yes/No" to set the permission to the User groups. I guess it should be there, but I don't see it. Manipulations via phpMyAdmin did not help to get the dropdowns visible.

Well, I assigned group permissions via phpMyAdmin. Everything seems to be correct, but the group doesn't behave the way I need.
Certain users can still post their unwelcomed comments.

You see the problem?

Dear Jan,

Strange thing... The quantity of pictures shown on the main index page next to category name is exactly twice the actual number of pictures.

I refrase it for clarity:

On the index page you see: "Photos" (name of category), "226" (number of pictures). You open the folder "Photos", and you see that there are 113 pictures. 113 is the correct number.

It doesn't seem to be a problem, but I wonder why on the index page the number is exactly twice the true number.

Dear Jan,
I am trying to work out how to change the column auth_directupload in MySQL. I get MySQL error because the syntax is not correct. I don't know what is not correct, because I checked it with my book and it seems to be correct but...  

The task:

I want to change upload permission from 2 (Registered Users) to 9 (private) so that I can validate images.

I don't like an idea to change it from the Admin panel where I have to edit permissions for every category (133 at this moment). It takes really a lot of time, and I know there is a better way to do it, namely by working on MySQL via MyPHPadmin.

Instead of changing line by line I want to ALTER the MySQL table.
Could you please help me what is the syntax to do so?

Warning: Unable to move '/tmp/phplTshAE' to './data/tmp_media/AndreBuise200.jpg' in /home/violadab/public_html/4images/includes/upload.php on line 111

I tried everything I could. No solution yet. Above is one of dozens of errors I have seen today. Its a shame because 4images should be able to do almost exactly what I need - a database of images for scientific use.
Does somebody have a trick to share? Thanks.
