What is mean of error_log

What is mean of error_log ?
My error file is having size of 12MB ?
I don't understand what's mean of it ? Can I replace the same with small file copied from another installation.

Not quiet sure what is your question...you have 12mb errors log file? - that's bad, open it and see what's in it.
Replace with a copy from what installation?
You can simply empty it...not sure why you want to copy it..

does error_log file stores all invalid logins or errors in 4images gallery ?
