New Image by Upload Date

When I upload an image, I use the IPTC date for the picture.  The problem is that if the picture was taken awhile ago (i.e., beyond the date limit set in ACP), the picture won't show up as a "New Image".

Is there way to still use the IPTC date as the date for the picture, but have the "New Image" function based on the upload date.  Basically, so when a visitor comes to image gallery, they'll see the new images that were "uploaded".

my hint : do yourself no problems !

... use the dates as they are ...
... the 4images date as upload date ...
... and the iptc date as taken date ...
... both dates are shown on details page and "New Images" on 4images galerie works perfect ...

I'm sorry.  I don't quite understand what you're saying.

Basically, I have the mod "Check new images in ALL categories v2.11".  So when I upload an image, I check the box "Use date from IPTC value".  So the image date assigned to the image is the date the image was taken, not when the image was uploaded.

What do I need to do to have the 4images/upload date as the upload date (so that "New Images" reflect this date), and the IPTC date as the taken date?

Nevermind.  I realized I had the "Insert EXIF date correct field when checking for new files" mod in my Check Images file.  Removing that got me what I was looking for.  Thanks for your help.
