[Mod] Variable number of new images on index page

Hi all!

I have made an advanced the MOD of SSL (http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=6669.0),
that you can can change the number of new images on the start page.
Also you can coustomize the number of rows and colls out of the controll panel.

If you want to post bugs or problems or any new features
please first look at http://www.the-deejay.com/mantis/ (4images/4images) for allready existing problem/bug/feature.
If you did not find what you want to know you are pleased to post it in the forum.
If someone translates the language files (admin_checkandgo.inc, main_checkandgo.inc) to his mother tongue i will be happy if he/she sends me the translated files, so i can include them in the zipfile for the mod.
And if someone send me additionally the install and update file translated too, then the mod would getting more and more simple to install.

New in v1.1 - 2004-08-17
    The rows can be changed two.
    Also you can decide if you want to show random new images or the last by the adding date.
    Enhancement that the rows and cells can be changed in the control panel.

Great MOD! But how can I avoid that the images dissappear when they are not considered 'new' anymore?
Unless I upload other new images there won't be any image on the homepage after expiration of the 'new'-period.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Problem is that this thread suggests a replacement exactly in this part of the code which has been replaced by an inc-file in the variable number of new images mod.

I have treid the suggestions... but it does not work with adding the RAND() function...
Can you please help me? Would be more than cool to have this mod with the feature, that when there are no new images, there will then older images be displayed...

I like this mod very much but could it be possible to add a paging to it so that I could have 100 new images and still display only the first 5 for example and put the others on next page or something. The paging could be similar to the one that you have in categories but it will be for new images. Or even better, make a mod that displays the newest X images and makes all images (regardless the category) accessible with paging - sorted by date - latest first. This way you will actually have csomething like an archive of the whole gallery, it will display pictures from all categories, ordered by date (newest first).

I will be very happy if you write such mod, I am sure that there will be others too that would find it useful.
